The University of Virginia (right), the location of the infamously fabricated gang-rape story printed in Rolling Stone last year, has found itself in the spotlight again thanks to another allegation of sexual assault - but this time the events surrounding the alleged rape are all too real. Sophomore volleyball player Haley Lind (left) believes she was raped at a UVA house party on August 22, 2015. The freshman athlete she was with swears it was all consensual. Both have been left distraught. And the UVA says there's just not enough evidence to do anything about it, The Washington Post reported.

The world works in certain ways.

Young men have an excess of sperm. The wish to get rid of it. So they either 1) self-service, 2) go to pros, 3) go to massage pallor that offers happy endings, or 4) find willing young lasses, when such can be found.

Young women today seek the company of certain men, generally a small sample of the total body of men. Exactly why that is , one could speculate, but the at is most certainly the case. These guys have a ample supply of women

There is also a strange belief among young women who have not had a talk with older women, that when they sleep with a guy he will form a bond with them. Actually no, the guys who are sought after will not, in fact sleeping with them will cause them to lose interest while these search for their next eager applicant.

Just behind are a sample of men that women, who can be frustrated too, will not consider sharing their charms with unless they have an excess of alcohol in their system. The guys know this and so they relay on the lowered inhibitions of drunk girls AND the fact when the drunk women do not land their target of the evening (the hot guy who is desired by many women) often they will quench their thirst on guys they normally would not consider.

The men will always oblige, the girls in these cases are dressed to seduce. It has been that way for as long as taverns have existed. It is up to women to behave like ladies, young men are biologically designed to spread their genes as widely as possible and if the women says yes...why not?

In this case the girl has an attractive body with maybe a 4 to 6 face who likely gave it up to a guy who she normally would not due to alcohol. Given the face, she likely had another target at the fraternity but he had better choice likely a 7 or 8, and she was left drunk and well......She thinks it must be rape as when sober she thinks she would not give it up to that guy.

The guy did nothing wrong.

Does not mean the world does not work in certain ways. Recognizing the world is the way it is, is a necessary step in living a pragmatic life. I have seen far more idealists go down to cynics than pragmatists who see the world the way its, the veil of pretty little lies society surrounds itself with dispelled.

Many young folks who were raised Christian go “off the wagon” for some time in early adulthood, eventually to come back to it. Many because they are told untruths, indeed many churches these days seem to excel at that. The secular world we live in promote this as well, it encourages women in the wrong direction and promotes all sorts of bad behaviors. I did not say I approve of such, I simply recognize that is the way the world is.

That the chap did not do anything wrong, based on our law and now current traditions. He committed no criminal act. That he may not have been a gentlemen of the 1950 mold, but the reality is that is not what women are looking for today, for the most part.

I have a son and a daughter. They are taught and as they mature and can understand human instincts and our current traditions will taught what we can. Basically reality. Hopefully once understanding how young folks react to certain circumstance, they will not err like this bimbo-in-training did, nor will my son enter this kind of lifestyle, though I have no doubt that when young he will try to bed as many women as possible, as that is what young men, less a few saints do.

I don't understand how you consider yourself a Christian and assert "The guy did nothing wrong. " That statement is false and incompatible with Christianity. Both rape and fornication are mortal sins. While a prosecutor may not bring him up on charges, he is guilty as sin.

Ahhh...if it is consensual, which it was according to the witnesses that saw her go willing with him..it is not rape.

The root word of rape in English jurisprudence:

seize prey; abduct, take by force

That is why he was not charged. She had no recollection and her actions at the party indicated she had intent to bed the poor innocent chap, she came on to him. When she realized what she did sober she had second thoughts...and I gave you the realist explanation for how that plays out in the modern day, having spent some time in my greener days in that world.

As for fornication, well it is a sin, so, technically is jerking off, or going to a pro, or having a girl perform a hand job (not sure about he last) and yet...I doubt that many man have not so sinned in youth prior to marriage. I very much doubt any man who has been in service and has had “deadly sperm buildup” (DSB) has not dealt with the issue. Every base has its recognized whore houses outside the gate that specialize in service personnel.

So it is not ideal, but ..well the root of the word “Sin” is an archery term. It means missing the mark. We humans miss the mark a lot.

Further we have set up a system where men need darned near ten years of education and work to be able to afford to marry...exactly at the time they are most in need of female company. What do suppose the young chaps are going to do?

If women want to avoid yielding their chaste treasure to some unsuitable young man’s unmastered importunity, then they should behave accordingly. Else they risk the approbation this young filly is currently feeling.

So my answer is yes, I am a Christian, but I recognize the world we live in is fallen and folks are not perfect. While young men are dogs, young women are by no means pure in thought, deed or actions these days. Far from it and the Christians that still treat/think women are thinking we are told they did 100 years ago is missing reality.

So in conclusion, “opps I did it with a guy I would not in a sober state” regret is not the same thing as rape. He did not commit a crime under the law.

The Judge of the whole earth will render a verdict as to whether he raped her (had sexual relations when she was incapable of consent). There are no excuses for rape and fornication; they are mortal sins. Not everyone who thinks they are Christian will inherit the kingdom of God.

Fair statement, I grant you that. You have me on it being a sin. Now I am raising my little ones as papists, but am a protestant to the core and we do not quite get the mortal vs. venal sin bit. Some of the lists of sins in the catholic church are....well kind of funny and make no sense. Sins that deny basic human nature seem stupid to me.

But....

You are willingly ignoring the witnesses who say she was a willing participant. She has no memory of it. What does that make her charge? Ponder this:

1) Bearing false witness is a sin.

2) She is equally guilty of fornication

As for being unable to grant consent, which would negate sin # 2. This is not 1916, nor is it 1966 where schools still practiced loco parentis and women were assumed to have certain protections every gentleman was required to observe. Women have demanded equal right and with such rights come equal responsibilities. Yong women everywhere cry about being in control of their own bodies,their sexuality and all that encompasses. Authority and responsibility they have claimed and have more than equal rights under the law. Well you can delegate authority, but not responsibility, you own it. She is responsible for the loss of her own chaste treasure in this case, she came on to him and went off with him, the intent was clear.

Generations of women, in my own family gong back to at least 1880 knew if you do not lead a man on when you or he are drunk. Young women of my era knew that the combination of a women’s smile, short skirt and the come hither look, will result 99% of young bucks will be “up” to the task. That a young 20 year old is unable to figure this out show her ill educated and lacking in instruction from the older generations. Not the young mans fault. I point this out as you have totally focused on the man’s part, not her part. Why is that?

Now I am certainly not a prelate but it seems to me that as I can come up with at least three sins on this girls part, (the last being a jezebel of sorts, leading this young innocent alter boy to the sin of fornication). But far be it for me to condemn her, as I am sure, as in the case of most sexual sins, the penalty of them is extracted in this world. Besides the JC did not in similar cases, and I am precluded from making any judgments on folks state of grace.
