So my answer is yes, I am a Christian, but I recognize the world we live in is fallen and folks are not perfect.

The Judge of the whole earth will render a verdict as to whether he raped her (had sexual relations when she was incapable of consent). There are no excuses for rape and fornication; they are mortal sins. Not everyone who thinks they are Christian will inherit the kingdom of God.

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Matthew, Catholic chapter seven, Protestant verse twenty one,
as authorized, but not authored, by King James

Fair statement, I grant you that. You have me on it being a sin. Now I am raising my little ones as papists, but am a protestant to the core and we do not quite get the mortal vs. venal sin bit. Some of the lists of sins in the catholic church are....well kind of funny and make no sense. Sins that deny basic human nature seem stupid to me.

But....

You are willingly ignoring the witnesses who say she was a willing participant. She has no memory of it. What does that make her charge? Ponder this:

1) Bearing false witness is a sin.

2) She is equally guilty of fornication

As for being unable to grant consent, which would negate sin # 2. This is not 1916, nor is it 1966 where schools still practiced loco parentis and women were assumed to have certain protections every gentleman was required to observe. Women have demanded equal right and with such rights come equal responsibilities. Yong women everywhere cry about being in control of their own bodies, their sexuality and all that encompasses. Authority and responsibility they have claimed and have more than equal rights under the law. Well you can delegate authority, but not responsibility, you own it. She is responsible for the loss of her own chaste treasure in this case, she came on to him and went off with him, the intent was clear.

Generations of women, in my own family gong back to at least 1880 knew if you do not lead a man on when you or he are drunk. Young women of my era knew that the combination of a women’s smile, short skirt and the come hither look, will result 99% of young bucks will be “up” to the task. That a young 20 year old is unable to figure this out show her ill educated and lacking in instruction from the older generations. Not the young mans fault. I point this out as you have totally focused on the man’s part, not her part. Why is that?

Now I am certainly not a prelate but it seems to me that as I can come up with at least three sins on this girls part, (the last being a jezebel of sorts, leading this young innocent alter boy to the sin of fornication). But far be it for me to condemn her, as I am sure, as in the case of most sexual sins, the penalty of them is extracted in this world. Besides the JC did not in similar cases, and I am precluded from making any judgments on folks state of grace.
