Sean Hannity On Donald Trump's VP: 'I Wouldn't Be Happy With Anyone But Newt Gingrich

For Sean Hannity, the question of who would be best suited to join Donald Trump on the Republican ticket is clear-cut: It's Newt Gingrich. Appearing on Fox News Monday night, the former speaker of the House heard a cascade of effusive praise and reasoning as to why he would be best positioned to take on the role of Trump's No. 2. Hannity laid out what he saw as the most important questions for the presumptive nominee to consider as he weighed choices on his short list, which have been said to include the likes of Gingrich, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Gov. Mike Pence and retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn.

"Who would be best at prosecuting the case against Hillary in terms of the list that he has? Who would be best in terms of making the case and articulating the case for Donald Trump with a positive voice like you have? Who would be the person that would pretty much be assured a win in any presidential/vice presidential debate?" Hannity told Gingrich. "I think you’ve checked that corner. Who has balanced the budget and given us a surplus? Who has the ability to work with Congress? I check all the boxes, and you're right there at the top, and I think you'd be the right choice. What is your response to that?" Hannity made sure to remark that he was not offering up the recommendation "as a friend." "I'm speaking objectively here. I think you would prosecute the case against Hillary better than anybody, strategize and help them win, and help him govern, which, with a hostile speaker and majority leader, would be difficult," the Fox host continued, as Gingrich grinned. Such talk "is all very flattering," Gingrich said, calling Hannity's questions "a pretty good set of criteria."

I think the options are Newt, Pence, Christie.

Newt far better attack dog, Pence a sophisticated to “establishment”

Who do you think would be better?

My top choices for him were Sessions and Fallin, but they are sounding less likely, and I think Newt pretty clearly would at least be better than Christie or Pence.

Mongolia was a landlocked, sparsely populated backwater, wedged between two communist states that was mostly made up of nomadic residents. Hard to set up formal relations with such a state.

I’ve noticed how he interupts everyone else also , no matter how pertinent their or important their remarks are. It’s an annoying distraction . He seems to be a conversation control freak

Hard in the 19th Century maybe, but not really in the latter half of the 20th with telephones and airplanes. The UK was the first western nation to establishment relations, in 1963.

We currently have no formal relations with Bhutan (talk about landlocked), that’s perhaps and even better job for Newt, he could have the honor of being our first Ambassador to take up residence in Thimphu, Callista would love it there, she’d be the blondest resident.

Christie could be Ambassador to Burundi (the world’s hungriest country according to some). Huckabee might be welled suited for another starving country, like the Central African Republic, Eritrea, or South Sudan.

I think a great place for Newt would be as Ambassador to Georgia. NOT the nation of Georgia, though. The U.S. state of Georgia.

When he was Speaker, he and his supporters all portrayed Newt as a very proud, active Southern Baptist from Georgia. Since leaving the House and trying to keep himself politically relevant, he and his supporters have reinvented Newt as a very proud, active, Catholic from Virginia ("Virginia" being code for "lives in the DC beltway year round")

Since Newt and his fans love remiscneting about how great the 90s were, its time to send Newt home and get him back in touch with his roots.

Newt Gingrich for Ambassador to Georgia (which will be a permanent, lifetime appointment that keeps him OUT of DC!)
