Today an interfaith ceremony was held to honor the five police officers murdered in Dallas last week. Native Texan and former President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush sat in the front row as honored guests.
President Bush led the nation after 9/11, somehow finding a way to deliver the right words to a shaken nation and today, in the wake of the worst loss of law enforcement life since that horrible day, he offered words of healing, support and unity to the country.
"Laura and I see members of law enforcement everyday, we count them as our friends," Bush said. "Their courage is our protection and shield. We're proud of the men we mourn and the community that has rallied to honor them and support the wounded. The Mayor and the police department have been mighty inspirations for the rest of the nation."
"With their deaths, we have lost so much. We are grief stricken, heartbroken and forever grateful," he continued. "Each new day can bring new dangers, but none of us were prepared, or could be prepared, for the ambush and shock of hatred and malice."
"To renew our unity we need to remember our values," he said. "We don't want the unity of grief, nor do we want the unity of fear. We want the unity of hope, dignity and high purpose."
"[To the children of those lost] Your loss is unfair, we cannot explain it, but we can stand beside you and share your grief and we can hope God will comfort you with a hope deeper than sorrow."

President Bush Speaks at Memorial Service for Slain Dallas Officers
Why would President Bush and the entire Bush clan criticize Ted Cruz? Ted Cruz never said anything bad about him.
I don’t think you get it.....
....how angry and betrayed the voters were when Bush tried to push amnesty down our throats......
.....
Much better than the “I-I-I- for 45 times of Obama.
Oh I get it just fine. I will take a GWB a thousand times over, even knowing the results of his presidency. He treated the office with the utmost respect and dignity, he made no excuses for his mistakes and there were some, he loved his country and it came first. He was faced with nothing but lies, innuendo, as well as utter loathing and disrespect. Save your crap for the enemies within.
You are being generous! ;)
Hm.........the Bush Fan Club will remain in perpetual thrall to the Bush assholery, w/their infantile excuse mongering; no matter the record of history. Predictable.
Referencing the gross incompetence of the Bush Buffoons has a very real purpose; viz, to expose them to eternal ridicule so that their like never get within light years of the WH again.
Does anyone know if Dubya is OK? He was dancing a bit too much at the memorial. He can act goofy at times, but usually very respectful at events like this. He did not seem right in the head.
From what I heard, he was there as both a former president and a citizen of Dallas, Texas. I was surprised that Obama allowed him to be there (remember after the shooting at Ft. Hood, Pres. Bush and Lady Laura visited the wounded and Obama told him to leave).
I’m surprised he hasn’t been criticized for his “rousing” rendition of “Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory”. :-D
It’s called being moved by the Holy Spirit. Listen to the words of the song. And right after the song ended, a black lady in the choir (leading the choir? singing? off to GWB’s right) came right over to GWB.
The only ones who knew the words (not the chorus) and were singing them were GW, Laura and the lady preacher.
OK...
"Islam is a religion of peace"
Yes he certainly did love Saudi Arabia.
I think you missed the point I was making, sorry if it wasn’t clear. I was trying to say only Bush acted presidential.
Yes it seems I did, as I do not consider that arrogant pos occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave as our president. Thanks for clarifying
Great post and so true. President Bush43 will always be my most favorite president
amen
I guess he will be responsible if Hillary is elected. We're probably only days away from Obama & Hillary blaming Hillary's email problems on Bush as well. Trump, of course, will agree and all of his bobble cheerleaders will say amen and chant hosanna.
What I have, is an appreciation for cold reality. The Bushes were and remain, a gaggle of republicrat failures who accomplished absolutely zero, during their appearance at the plate.
From the tone and temperament of your comments. it’s obvious you still have some sort of idealistic attachment to these schmucks. Truly Sad.
Suggest you get real and make an attempt to grow up; or remain a congenital horse’s ass.
