TEL AVIV Murdered Ambassador Chris Stevens had originally planned to arrive in Benghazi with Pentagon assistance and attempted to coordinate with the Defense Department in order to be housed on a protected coalition naval vessel for a period of time
However, the Obama Administrations no boots on the ground policy directly precluded such protection, which would have required Stevens to stay overnight with the military at sea and take a boat to land when he was required to be on the ground in the chaotic country of Libya.
After weeks of planning, the military assistance was nixed because of the administrations decision against putting boots on the ground, the correspondence cited in the Benghazi report divulges:
After weeks of planning, the Administrations no boots on the ground policy kept military assistance from accompanying Stevens to Benghazi.
On March 30, 2011, Kennedy informed other senior State Department leaders: After over a week of joint planning [Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Michael] Mullen has decided that the no boots on the ground in Libya policy precludes DOD assisting us in getting Stevens into Libya.
Specifically, Admiral Mullen deemed the use of military assetseven in civilian dressto be in violation of the Presidents directive, and therefore forbade their use to get Stevens into Benghazi and assist in his protection there. With no military assets to assist, Stevens found a way to get himself there on a Greek cargo ship, just like a 19th-century American envoy.

Neither Hillary nor Obama are subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice, so the answer is no. Obama is commander-in-chief, but he is not subject to the UCMJ.
Hillary would remind you “What difference does it make?”
No. But Obama can be impeached. As can Hillary -- if elected.
Damn these traitors.
This IS a kind of prayer for our ‘leaders’. Just not real positive.
If he was using open communications for convenience, every government and terrorist entity knew he was there and why. Communications surveillance is universal even here on Free Republic.
They (the news media) report, and we discuss everything about Benghazi except the reason it was necessary Ambassador Stevens be there in the first place.
Let’s discuss that aspect of this, and see if we agree he had no business being there as the Obama Administration just might have been doing something it shouldn’t, and for whose benefit?
I think we’ve been led off the trail again.
The Bastard-in-Chief is guilty with Hillary as his accessory.
Stevens was murdered due to Obama White House politics.
That is the most polite way to put it. I never knew
Chris Stevens although he was born in my small home
town in Northern California. I did know his grandfather,
Elmer “Chief” Stevens. Chief was a frequent substitute HS
teacher and a great guy who never was known to utter
an unkind word. He had been my older sister’s history
teacher in the mid 1960s before retirement. I bet Chief
would have a few unkind things to say about about Obama,
Clinton, and the rest of that pack of Rats post Benghazi.
When obama brought the turncoat, bergdahl, home and celebrated in the rose garden, he repeated the line.. never leave a man behind. Then he leaves the Ambassador behind in benghazi to be killed.
No boots on ground prevented Stevens from getting there with any help from DOD; but we had a building full of CIA agents a few miles away? How did they all get there?
Benghazi ping.
Let Republicanprofessor know if you want on or off this ping list.
bttt
More importantly WHAT were they doing there?
Your post wins the internet!!!!!!!! Excellent!
Thank you. Appreciate the feedback.
Personally, I think they’re guilty of war crimes. Libya, Egypt, ....
What state laws has she broken?
What about the possibility of one or more states barring her from the ballot on the grounds she is not eligible to serve as CIC?
But she meets all the constitutional criteria for eligibility. She's over 35, resident or over 14 years and is, by any measure, a natural born citizen.
If we can't deny her election, then impeachment is the only remedy. And you are correct -- it ain't gonna happen.
