I haven’t had a real tomato in years, when like you I grew them. These in the stores have no taste none! You have to go to a farmer’s market. The store bought go bad within days.... I bought a dryer, so I’m not throwing away food anymore. It goes into the dryer, then I put in my sauces.
Oooooooo hooo hoooo.. I think we found our man. How long has he been in office and what kind of governor is he.
Oh man, between Trump’s wife and this guy, we’ve covered like 10 languages in the white house.
Then you have the UK connection with Canada. And the French connection.
I think we found our man. Sneeky Trump went up there to meet the guy first hand. Why else would he go?
This has been a fun thread, starting right out of the gate around 630am.... Someone started the jokes about Bangor, and then another posted the lines to ROger Miller’s king of the road...and next thing we know, we’re all singing to ourselves....
Funny stuff....
Thank you for asking- YES! Wow! They were large and classic. The good thing is, they will provide a measure of toughness, sorely needed, as I have been away from the trail rigors for (apparently) far too long.
I leave for the Sierra mountains, sometime tomorrow, or early Friday morning.
I have a job working at a resort, akin to a utility baseball player... basically, doing whatever the boss wants me to do, whether it’s dishwashing, carpenter work, shuttle driver, mailman, or boat captain. I will stay through the rustic resort’s closing in October. Leaving the broiling desert, and none too soon.
I will have to return to AZ, if I don’t get my ballot in the mail soon enough, to vote AGAINST John McCain. This- I relish.
from Wikipedia...I like this guy!!!! Oh man, I like this guy!!!!! I bet he and Trump hit off. Didn’t he come out for Trump early on?1!!!! Oh, man...
Early life and education[edit]
LePage was born in Lewiston, Maine. The eldest son of eighteen children of Theresa (née Gagnon) and Gerard LePage, both of French Canadian descent,[citation needed] he grew up speaking French in an impoverished home with an abusive father who was a mill worker.[2] His father drank heavily and terrorized the children, and his mother was too intimidated to stop him.[3] At age eleven, after his father beat him and broke his nose, he ran away from home and lived on the streets of Lewiston, where he at times stayed in horse stables and at a “strip joint”.[2][4] After spending roughly two years homeless, he began to earn a living shining shoes, washing dishes at a café, and hauling boxes for a truck driver. He later worked at a rubber company and a meat-packing plant and was a short order cook and bartender.[5]
LePage applied to Husson College in Bangor, but he was rejected due to a poor verbal score on the SAT because English was his second language. He has said that State Representative Peter Snowethe first husband of former U.S. senator Olympia Snowepersuaded Husson to give LePage a written exam in French, which allowed LePage to show his reading comprehension skills and gain admission.[5][6] At Husson, LePage improved his English-language skills and became editor of the college newspaper.[5] He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in business administration in finance and accounting and later earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maine.[5]
No worries- I’m in AZ. lol
Just sayin’, if I was in your neck of the woods...
WELCOME BACK, FRiend.
You were missed. I couldn’t figure out why there were no updates, and I was concerned for you.
Then I read your update about your auto accident, and my goodness, I couldn’t believe it. Wow. I hope you are able to walk on your leg now, and the pain from the accident is gone.
You are in God’s Good Hands and among Good People here, who love and care for you.
Sending Wishes of Healing to you, WVKayaker.
Don’t want new...want true.
The VP thought just jumped OUT at me! His wife is waiting tables!!! The optics and message is PROFOUND!
Left home at 11!
Lived in horse staples and a strip joint!
Shined shoes, washed dishes, hauled boxes for a truck driver, worked at a rubber company, worked at a meat packing plant, was a short order cook, and a bartender.
There’s so much more positive, to say about him, in his bio!
He is NOW a Governor with executive experience!
You two have the most beautiful state. I’ve added it on my bucket list to visit.
Yes. I remember. :-)
How about old phrases as well?
My mother used to always say “Go jump in the lake” meaning “Get Lost”.
When she was at the Alzheimers Care Unit, the nurses remarked how puzzled they were when she told them to “GO JUMP IN THE LAKE”!!!
Yummm...we’ve had them that way, as well, this week.
I wish I could take some of those tomatoes off of your hands ;-)
I’d trade you some of my plum jam. We had a great crop, this year.
My internet is down again so posting from my phone so please overlook any typos. I watch HGTV quite a bit and from what I’ve learned quartz is better because it doesn’t stain, have to be treated yearly, and is less expensive. You might want to weigh the pros and cons of the different materials.
Eric on Dobbs now
Sounds like an ideal summer job—in the mountains.
Hope they have internet so we can keep in touch with you.
Have a dryer that I bought at a yard sale for five dollars. Always forget to use it. Have done onions and green peppers in it. Also dried some apples with cinnamon. Have a very productive Granny Smith tree
Nik, I have set up several container gardens for people too busy for a real garden. One large container will hold everything you need a tomatoe, pepper, lettuce, green onions, spinach. Even have a friend who like a certain type of potatoe and sweet potatoe and keeps several five gallon buckets alternating between planted-growing-harvesting.
Checked my sweet potatoes tonight. Beautiful vines growing up a trellis
He wants to hear more about the successful welfare to work program to see if he’s interested in setting it up nationwide.
I think DJT decided on his VP weeks ago and it will be a pleasant surprise to all of us. Or not!
So many fun people with like minds. (It’s better than many families )
Will you be able to keep in touch with us?
I will be on @oreillyfactor at 8:00 P.M. Enjoy!
