Federal Judge Throws Out Cleveland’s GOP Convention Security Plan Byron Tau June 23, 2016 1:37 p.m. ET
CLEVELAND—A federal judge on Thursday struck down the city of Cleveland’s rules limiting protests during next month’s Republican National Convention, finding the city’s strict security regulations violated the U.S. Constitution.
U.S. District Court Judge James Gwin ruled the city’s establishment of a large zone around the July convention site within which protesters’ ability to demonstrate would be strictly limited contravened the Constitution’s guarantees of the freedom of speech and assembly.
“Under the First Amendment, I do find that the city hasn't sufficiently, narrowly drawn the regulations to serve government interests,” Judge Gwin told attorneys at the conclusion of the two-hour hearing.
He said he would follow with a formal ruling. Lawyers for the city indicated that they were considering an appeal.

I see your point. However, in this election cycle, the bikers are a part of “us.” We may not support criminal activity, but they support our right to have a convention.
Further, if you and I started trying to organize a presence in Cleveland for the purpose of clubbing protesters to the ground, we’d be in jail before dinner.
Just declare the area around the convention site a free fire zone. Bring in the 155s and M-60s to do the crowd control.

All that’s really needed is a couple hundred plants in the protests, dressed the part and playing along, in spirit, while taking non stop video and audio.
I agree we handled it yesterday, but it was all Northeast Ohioans, not liberal, progressive, communist, protestors bussed in compliments of the DNC
There is no panic at all in what I am about to say, but there is no wisdom, and only foolishness in keeping the convention in Cleveland.
It can be moved on the spur of the moment. It just takes resolve and hard work.
This convention must be moved immediately to another location!
If the Republican Party goes forward, and people are killed or the area is destroyed, Trump and the Republican Party will be held fully liable in the context of National media and the national press!
The first clue as to what is likely to happen is the Federal Judge telegraphing this convention is fair game. He cares more for providing opportunity to do bodily harm and damage to those involved with the convention or bystanders, than providing for the personal safety of those in the area!
I believe the chance of this convention being targeted is like no other in recent history, by what has recently proven to be well organized Marxist/anarchist protesters who will be bussed in to create a serious confrontation.
This is what they do, and many of them will get away with it period. They need not fear the neo-Marxist DoJ, and media.
It is strait out of rules for radicals, and Karl Marx to create anarchy and destruction of the current order.
They will be motivated, as they realize they are on the brink of losing the most left wing White House in America’s history!
The left wing will get crazy out of control, and Trump and the RNC will get the blame!
This is strait out of the book opportunity presenting itself against all freedom loving patriotic Americans.
The Republican Party will simply not get favorable media on this!
Cleveland might be somewhat central, but is also very much short distances to large liberal and dangerous welfare cities where it is very easy to bus protesters in from.
If the venue is moved, the federal judge might be remembered for Cleveland losing a lot of money over siding with the left...

It’s the BLM bunch who’s planning millions protesting in Cleveland. The occupy and La Raza bunch we could handle.
