What is it like to fire an AR-15? It’s horrifying, menacing and very very loud (LOL/Barf!)

But Frank Stelmach of Double Tap Shooting Range and Gun Shop invited me, videographer Michael Sheridan and reporter Adam Shrier to come down. Stelmach is not like many gun lovers. He admires his weaponry, yes, and has difficulty explaining why law-abiding citizens need a gun that can empty a 40-round magazine in a few seconds. But he also hates the idea that bad people get a hold of a gun like this and use it to kill without difficulty.
There should be expanded background checks extending into your family, friends and associates, he said. And there should be a mental health screening. In Europe, if you want to buy a gun, you have to see a doctor (for a psychiatric examination) to see if somethings not right.
......
The recoil bruised my shoulder, which can happen if you don't know what you're doing. The brass shell casings disoriented me as they flew past my face. The smell of sulfur and destruction made me sick. The explosions loud like a bomb gave me a temporary form of PTSD. For at least an hour after firing the gun just a few times, I was anxious and irritable.

He’d still be hiding under the bed if had dropped the hammers on a double barreled 10 gauge coach gun.

Take Freud with a pound of salt. He was looking for some symbolism, any symbolism, that would displace the Judeo-Christianity he hated.
Well, he found some, even if he had to hark back to Greek mythology, and suddenly everyone who wanted to be known as a psychologist was genuflecting at that altar. And mankind became stupider rather than wiser.
To him, the gun symbolized the penis. As Siggy himself noted, however, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

It’s a good thing we don’t have the draft anymore. All the snowflakes like this clown would be stampeding down to the VA to sign up for PTSD a day or two after the beginning of “range week” in basic training.

Perhaps a nice revolver would be more to his liking.
A .500 S&W maybe.

Bah. If it is anything like the M16 was way back when I wore the BDU many years ago, the thing is a plasticky, spindly little rattletrap. I hated that damned "alleged" rifle so much I was eager to volunteer for M60 training. Never looked back.
Happiness is a belt-fed, crew-served weapon.

Many of us,such as me, contacted the writer and told him he was a liar and a pussy. He actually responded telling us he rewrote the article although the re-do was as pathetic as the 1st and himself.
Guys a frigen pajama boy pussy. His back ground is theater and he has no business commenting on anything related to survival.I would hate to be in a tight situation with him around as he would be weeping in the corner.
