Judge was explaining the legal responsibility of Disney. Family will become VERY wealthy with insurance settlement. That conversation was before the announcement
I cant believe the horror..to watch your baby being taken away by an alligator..that’s an image these parents will NEVER get out of their heads, never..RIP Lane..a new angel in heaven
Oh, how sad. Prayers up for this young family, from NE. What a horror to have to live with...for all of them. I think they have two other children.
Living here in Florida, alligators are common in even the smallest bodies of water. Never, ever go near wilderness water that is more than an inch deep.....................and even then watch out at all times..................
My heart breaks for that family. Cant even begin to imagine the horror. Holding them tight in my prayers
“This is why you dont let your kidless splash in water where there are no swimming signs.....particularly in Florida”
Back in the 50’s we used to swim in the Florida lakes at night. Flashlights would reveal dozens of gators in the lake with us.
But back then they were afraid of humans.
Good. Lets hope the gators are all removed, and killed from the lagoon.
Sometimes a joke like that can be funny.
This time, no.
Nightmares for life.
Body found fifteen feet from shore
Cause of death drowning
Alligators do not eat humans as a rule.
So very sad for all
Alligators appeared out of nowhere
Bush’s Fault.
Not slightly different. An alligator does what he does and an Islamist does what he does. I don’t have to give up my rights based on what either of them does.
If it isn’t alligators, it’s Gay Pride Day.
Well and you may have had a beer or two to help with your courage....
Plus a two year old looks like a bite sized snack
That Disney lagoon is a magnet for those gators. The entire park sits on what was previously their habitat....a swamp, right?
We have gators, here in SE TX, in our golf course ponds! They will find murky water, and settle right in. We had neighbors who live on a creek and were having issues with their family pets missing. They kept worrying that it would be a child, next. The dads trapped the gator, but that was one of how many?
Disney is supposed to be trapping the gators over 4’. This one - and the one that chased the Brit family, recently were over 4’.
So sad. I just cannot imagine.
Prayers for his little soul and for healing of the family. I just can’t imagine the scene these parents will replay in their minds for the rest of their lives, a happy moment turning in seconds to such horrific terror and loss. Lord, please ease their pain.
a tragedy for sure..once upon a time I was eating lunch in my car when a 6 to 7 foot gator came out of the nearby water looking for a sandwich..I got the heck out of there.
Beyond sad, and all families have every expectation to feel safe on a Disney property, so I’m sure Disney is in for one hell of a lawsuit, little comfort that might be. That said, as our Florida Freepers are aware, any body of water in Florida, has the potential to turn up an alligator. I was in Brevard County for a few years and they were everywhere, golf courses, lakes, really any standing body of water could be a danger. I’m sure the parents feel awful and they really couldn’t have known, but it’s a risk in Florida.
Sorry to ask this ignorant question but what do Florida gators eat? I thought they were all meat eaters? Please don’t flame I’m just curious?
Having worked at Disney World in the 70s, there were always warnings that despite all there efforts, the gators would find a way in. I wonder how bad the heat would have been on them if they had been able to shoot the gator to save the kid.
