Beyond sad, and all families have every expectation to feel safe on a Disney property, so I’m sure Disney is in for one hell of a lawsuit, little comfort that might be. That said, as our Florida Freepers are aware, any body of water in Florida, has the potential to turn up an alligator. I was in Brevard County for a few years and they were everywhere, golf courses, lakes, really any standing body of water could be a danger. I’m sure the parents feel awful and they really couldn’t have known, but it’s a risk in Florida.

We live in Florida. We’ve been swimming in many bodies of water here where alligators live. It’s not usually a problem as they are afraid of humans. Now they WILL go after small pets, but they usually leave people alone.
There will be no Lawsuit. Disney will Financially settle with the Family and there will be a non disclosure agreement.
In their Business, keeping this story in the Public Eye with a pending Lawsuit would cost them much more than any Financial Settlement.
Way back when, a Child died after eating an undercooked Hamburger at Jack In The Box. Jack In The Box jumped right on it by Settling with the Family and immediately changing their Food preparation procedures.
There was no protracted Lawsuit. Jack In The Box admitted their error and did what they had to do. They also successfully rebranded after the tragedy.
