Speaker Paul Ryan on Tuesday implicitly disagreed with Donald Trump's remarks from a day earlier in which the presumptive GOP nominee repeated his call for a policy banning Muslims from entering the U.S and condemned radical Islam in the wake of the Orlando nightclub attack.
"I think there's a really important distinction that every American needs to keep in mind: This is a war with radical Islam. It's not a war with Islam," Ryan said when asked to react to Trump's terrorism speech on Monday.

It's fitting that the Republican party place such a physically ugly individual in charge since everything the party has done over the past few years is just as ugly.

Ultimately, any checks rely on a clerk who has to face the person across a desk. I stood for over an hour arguing with a clerk at the DMV because he wanted my ninety-plus year old mother to produce her marriage certificate to prove her name to replace an ID that THEY had made a mistake on. (The court house no longer existed.) At the next window was a man who spoke no English trying to get a driver’s license. He had no ID whatsoever. The clerk made him raise his hand and swear he was who he said he was and he walked away with his driver’s license. I was turning red and about to blow. My clerk asked if my mother had a fishing license. They are free after a certain age, he said. I said no. He quickly printed her a license and then used that as her other ID.
While I was pleased to get out of there both clerks clearly violated the trust us citizens have in them. Can you imagine it would be any different when some clerk has to deal with one hostile or groveling person after another?
And, how do you get background material on somebody coming from a war torn country with little or no internet and most of their public buildings in ruins. Would Syrian state officials cooperate? “Mohamed? Sure, he’s clean. No problems. (snicker.)”

A fellow Vet and great guy was going to retire next year, until this DC Uni=Party Bastard rammed through the latest budget surrender to the Jug-Eared Fascist from Kenya.
Now, thanks to the screwing the Social Security rules received, he cannot retire until February of 2020.
All the years we were forced to “contribute” to Social Security, while ever since the RATS under LBJ transferred the SS funds to the General Fund, replacing them with worthless IOUs. Now, they are “fixing” the short-fall by reducing benefits while trying to tar those who wish to receive what they have been paying for for 50-years as selfish leaches.
