Sowell: Will Orlando Change Anything?
Creators Syndicate ^ | June 14, 2016 | Thomas Sowell

Posted on 06/13/2016 10:15:50 AM PDT by jazusamo

However great the shock of the massacre in Orlando, it is only a matter of time before we start hearing again the fact-free dogma that "diversity is our strength."

If there is any place in the Guinness Book of World Records for words repeated the most often, over the most years, without one speck of evidence, "diversity" should be a prime candidate.

Is diversity our strength? Or anybody's strength, anywhere in the world? Does Japan's homogeneous population cause the Japanese to suffer? Have the Balkans been blessed by their heterogeneity — or does the very word "Balkanization" remind us of centuries of strife, bloodshed and unspeakable atrocities, extending into our own times?

Has Europe become a safer place after importing vast numbers of people from the Middle East, with cultures hostile to the fundamental values of Western civilization?

"When in Rome do as the Romans do" was once a common saying. Today, after generations in the West have been indoctrinated with the rhetoric of multiculturalism, the borders of Western nations on both sides of the Atlantic have been thrown open to people who think it is their prerogative to come as refugees and tell the Romans what to do — and to assault those who don't knuckle under to foreign religious standards.

The recent wave of refugees flooding into Europe include Muslim men who have been haranguing European women on the streets for not dressing modestly enough, not to mention their sexual molestation of those women.

Actually, Japan, while 99% Japanese, does have some diversity. They are just very selective about who they let stay in the country long-term. My brother and sister-in-law enjoy the benefits of permanent residency.

The Japanese don't give it away easily. They talk to neighbors, employers, coworkers and anyone else to ensure you will be an asset to the nation and not a liability. They also require that you demonstrate a reasonable proficiency with the language. Not native fluency, but functional fluency.

Some people call it racist, but when is the last time you heard about any jihadi incident in Japan?

The worst stupidity is deliberate and government demanded stupidity... where facts, truth and reality must submit to political ideology. None more evident that this slaughter of one PeeCee favored class (LGBT) by another PeeCee favored class (Muslim). This (as does all Truth), creates TILT in the “progressive” mind... and when this occurs they ALWAYS blame the NRA and legal gun owners! One wonders... there is no NRA in Paris or in the Middle East or in most of the world, yet murders in the name of Jihad abound! No matter if the murder and mayhem be inflicted with bombs, guns or stones... it ALWAYS is the fault of the NRA and any who support the tattered remains of the Constitution. I am convinced if the NRA did not exist... Obama/“progressives” would have to invent it.

IIRC the word started being used to make being gay more acceptable long before different cultures and races were involved but I could be wrong...

We need to stop caring about a stupid word: “racist” and care more about stopping more massacres in the name of jihad.

This was just one of 6 targets identified. It depends if one of the other targets have any success as to how much things are changed. Gun and ammo sales will go way up again.

I hope it changes any trajectory in the populace that would tend to give any Democrat a chance to win in November.

More importantly, I also hope the response of the Christian community is so overwhelming that the homosexual population sees the love of Jesus is what that truly need.

Yeah but he seemed to have a problem with his nose when Donald actually said them. It went badly out of joint.

I admit and applaud him for not being nearly as bad about it as some.

But you have to admit he threw a hissy fit over how people could actually vote for someone who grabbed a chair and started swinging when attacked rather then discreetly murmuring a protest at afternoon tea with his pinkie raised.

It just wasn't done!

The satanic lie that keeps being repeated about “diversity” and “strength” has been used to subvert and subject cultures since the beginning of time.

I totally agree with you, Sowell has a hangup with Trump and I don’t agree with him in the least.

I sincerely hope he’s softening on Trump somewhat and would love to see him get on board though I haven’t seen him change his views in the past that I can remember.

Thomas asked, “Has Europe become a safer place after importing vast numbers of people from the Middle East, with cultures hostile to the fundamental values of Western civilization?” A sane mind would answer with a resounding NO! But the liberal mind is under such strong delusion that it will not even allow the question to form correctly. The liberal mind is surreal ...

No, because we insist in deluding ourselves that Islam has ever been anything but a religion of conquest and slavery.

They are commanded by their prophet to convert or kill all infidels.

Submit or die.

It’s in their book.

And we have to do that here: Be very selective about who gets visas.

The longer the visa, the more selective.

Citizenship should be very hard to get.

Voting should be nigh unto impossible; means test, ownership of land, military service, or other criteria for voting. Stakeholders. Not just breathing people.

Not every citizen should be allowed to vote.

If they are on the dole, they have a deep-seated and intractable conflict of interest that renders them incapable of judging a candidate for offices big and small.

Well and truly stated. And that ‘on the dole’ vote is why democrats keep parsing out more dole and more debt ... it is the Cloward-Piven strategy to end the Republic which democraps hate as founded, and remake it in the socialist utopia of surreal dead soul minds.

It is ironic, is it not: that it is largely conservatives that stand between homosexuals and those who are trying to throw them off of buildings or otherwise kill them.
