From the very moment of its inception, Democrat members of the House Benghazi Select Committee have worked to sabotage, subvert and otherwise obstruct the committee’s efforts to discover the truth of what happened that fateful night of Sept. 11, 2012, in Libya.
Now that the committee’s work is drawing near a close after two years, with chairman Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., promising to release a final report soon, the Democrat members are demanding a bigger role in the drafting of the report.
But Gowdy, though “mildly amused” at this latest bid by the Democrats, is not surprised that they would make one last gasp at upending his report. He let them know how he felt in a scathing letter sent this weekend to the top committee Democrat, Maryland Rep. Elijah Cummings. According to The Hill, the seven-page, 1,800-plus word letter laid bare the numerous documented incidents of the Democrat members’ obstruction of the committee’s investigation, led by the “serial leaker” Cummings himself.
Gowdy, who tenacious style of investigating and interviewing witnesses has earned him the nickname “The Bulldog,” wrote that the Democrats “have spent far more time writing letters, selectively leaking material, and spreading mischaracterizations than you have actually participating in this investigation.”
Nevertheless, “Despite your efforts to undermine and obstruct our fact-centered work, rest assured all members of the committee will have the opportunity to review the report and offer changes in a manner consistent with the rules of the House,” Gowdy promised.
The report and accompanying evidence and transcripts would be released shortly after that, at which point the American people would be able to make up their own minds about exactly what happened in Benghazi.
“This investigation has uncovered new information that will change how the public views what happened before, during, and after the attacks in Benghazi,” Gowdy wrote. “Despite your best efforts to prevent it from happening, actually talking to eyewitnesses and actually accessing relevant documents has produced new information… It took longer than I wanted, but we are finally going to be able to answer questions left unanswered by previous investigations.”

I couldn’t think of another word to describe Cummings but I’ll try to recreate my words sans his rearguard actions.
There was a story in the Baltimore City Paper, June 8th edition entitled “A one-time city power player fights to save his home”, about an artist who has fallen on hard times but whose work in the field was locally and nationally recognized even by Pres. Bush.
The man wrote to Cummings, as his representative in Congress, to ask with help in getting his house repair permits/contractors approved because of possible local neighbors threats against them.
Cummings passed the buck faster than a pickpocket at a convention and basically said you’re on your own. Why should he help a poor constituent when he’s got so many more idiots around who still vote for him and would even if he was caught sleeping with Hillary Clinton (whose butt he has been trying to cover on the Benghazi hearing committee, for years)?
The story about Dwight Whitney, contained the following about his efforts to get help with his housing problems.
“Congressman Elijah Cummins sent him a letter back. Dated March, 2014, it mentioned a pending foreclosure. It says the neighboring roofs “are not under our domain.” And as for the drug activity? “This is strictly a police matter...”
I once worked for a congressman and we never sloughed off on a constituent’s request for help. We always tried to put them in touch with our local office’s constituent services section, or to contact some local or government agencies to see if they could help.
Mr. Whitley also had written to officials that he “Served as a photographer with the U.S. Air Force for the 459th Congressional Wing - Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. Served as a photographer for the Pentagon and the White House, Washington, D.C.”
If Mr. Whitley’s story is true, and the author, Edward Erickson Jr. wrote a lot about this man, his life, and now, the hard times re his house, then something is wrong in “Charm City”.
For some reason, I don’t think Cummings gives a damn about some poor black photographer constituent. But then, again, it could be just me (because I know that Cummings is a piece of Democratic garbage from my old hometown).
Gowdy is found to be all bark and no bite. At times he needs a muzzle. Just another flea, an annoying parasite.
I see Cummings as one of the most despicable in all of congress and there’s one hell of a lot of competition.
Ah, the dreaded sternly worded letter!
That will leave a mark on them democrats..............
It’s amazing how disconnected Cummings and many other politicians are towards citizens, freedom, the Constitution and righteousness.
They are mired in the muck of self aggrandizement and their anti American agenda.
Hopefully this will turn out to be a case of them acquiring enough rope to hang themselves.
Although it won’t change them, at least the record is out there of their misdeeds.
Just like all the stuff on the Clintons.
Say what you (in a general sense) will about Gowdy he (finally!) produced something worthy of being out there for all to see.
I hope Trump’s speech tomorrow knocks the wind out of Hillary.

Republicans are so well trained as lapdogs that any role in which leadership is required just leaves them in the dust.
Political inertia is a terrible thing.
Gowdys comments were from the week before. The report still hasn't been released. I suspect it wont be for another couple weeks and it won't be a Friday night news dump much to the Rats chagrin.

After two years allowing the Dems to play their games, Gowdy is now releasing his report proving they obstructed the investigation????

Perhaps Cummings is Congressman X?
Unless he’s going to recommend criminal charges for them, this is more pointless windbaggery from “Gowdy the Epic Disappointment”.
The letter is dated June 5, and I remember being forwarded a copy of it (although not this article, which is new) roughly a week ago when it came out.
Breaking news would be if Gowdy did anything about it. I’m tired of hearing about his hearings.
