As I said, predicting a VP choice is nearly impossible until the last minute because the situation is fluid. A candidate might need some help in a key state, based on current polling. Or the opponent might open up a new line of attack that needs a defense. A lot can change in a few weeks.
But as of today, and according to the Master Persuader filter, I put the odds at 90% than Trump picks Brown as his running mate.

sure, but only people who hang out on political forums like this care about that. More importantly, he only spent 3 years in the US Senate, although he’s been a state legislator in MA that doens’t sound like the kind of legislative clout Trump is looking for. He would probably help broaden Trump’s appeal but doesn’t bring any constituency Trump couldn’t win on his own, and has the reputation of being a losing candidate.
I wonder if Trump is playing a rope-a-dope with Ben Carson. There were a ton of conservatives breaking for Carson before his campaign fell apart. Yah, he's weak, but he's an outsider. He's moral. Will bring in cultural conservatives. Will dispel the lie that Trump is racist. Will maintain the outsider mystique.
I like Allen West. He wouldn’t have lost his congressional seat if the Florida legislature hadn’t redistricted him out of it. Plus, there were allegations of voter fraud the Florida GOP ignored.
And Trump’s head is not little.
My guess is he will reach across the aisle to a moderate liberal. He will bank on the conservative base to stay with him. Yes, some will be mad and stay home but those people were going to stay home, anyway, because their fav candidate did make it.
Trump has worked mightily to get the ‘Reagan democrats to think about holding their noses and pulling the lever for him and someone like Newt or Palin would send them all scurrying back to the dem lever.
We have to realize that his presidency will be one of compromise and understand that this is better than the alternative. Day by day, folks.
John Thune.
Agreed.
Walker is a much better pick.
Trump needs a strong midwest presence.
I do not understand these people that keep suggesting as potential VP people who lost their races. Who is Scott Brown supposed to appeal to? He's too RINO for conservatives, and liberals have rejected him twice already. Why do some people think Rubio would guarantee Florida when he didn't even win the state in the primary? Why do so many Freepers keep suggesting Allen West, an obscure one-term congressman who was defeated for re-election?
I'm not too worried about whether the VP is presidential material. They seldom follow their predecessor to the White House anyway. The VP pick needs to bring in votes that the POTUS candidate will not bring in. I don't see Gingrich helping Trump with more votes, either.
Jan Brewer comes across as the alcoholic grandma. Not good optics. It’s all about optics, ya know.
Another proven total loser.
It doesn’t really even matter what a person’s politics are when they have zero leadership abilities or qualities.
We just had a field including 16 candidates who have zero chance of ever setting foot in the Oval Office.
We should really stop looking to people such as these for leadership, because they are not leaders, and they never will be.
VP Ivanka Trump? This election has been anything but typical.
I’m aware....and since have discovered he’s a little more liberal than I like...and pro-choice. And after all....it is Massachusetts...and I have nothing good to say about Massachusetts.
Everyone has baggage. Not a problem because no one has more baggage than Hillary and Bubba.
I won’t vote for even one northeast guy.
Do you think Dan Coats would do it? He’s in the right place, doesn’t have the stink of defeat about him, and can’t have a very high opinion of anything Bush related.
Nothing.
It’s worth nothing.
SMH.
I’m trying to eat.
Please don’t make me puke.
Why is an old VP such a bad thing? If they die in office Trump can pick anyone else.
Past VP’s have tended to be older than the president.
Picking someone younger never works. Just ask Romney and McCain.
Because Trump is, too.
