As I said, predicting a VP choice is nearly impossible until the last minute because the situation is fluid. A candidate might need some help in a key state, based on current polling. Or the opponent might open up a new line of attack that needs a defense. A lot can change in a few weeks.
But as of today, and according to the Master Persuader filter, I put the odds at 90% than Trump picks Brown as his running mate.

I have figured that Trump will select an established GOP politician with solid conservative credentials, outside of DC, either a governor (good) or a senator (better) a few years out of office), from an important swing state.

Interesting, but Coats is a total stiff, and brings nothing useful to the ticket (Indiana is going red, short of Mao as Veep).
OTOH, MailmanJr delivering Ohio puts the full mammo electoral squeeze on Cankles. She. cannot. win. without. Ohio.
Trump would prefer Krispy but will be guided by the electoral math.

But remember that 51% has already demonstrated that they don’t really want a woman in the white house. I know that is hard to understand but it is simply how things are. If women really wanted a woman they would have put one in the white house before now and I don’t mean as first lady.

I don't think so. Primary reason, a woman Veep would spend the first month after being named at the Convention, parrying old Donald quotes. Name one single conservative female politician who could carry that off. Thatcher, RIP. Ferraro, not conservative and also RIP. Palin, love her but just no.
No, Veep is one of two guys: either go big bland with 'Clean Gene' MailmanJr to lock up Ohio; or take someone who can club the MSM almost as good as Trump, and that is Krispy.
Kasich wouldn’t be bad, I just don’t think he’ll do it. All the conventional wisdom has been against Trump, and there is no audience that has the willies worse than the sorts of political insiders he will need to tap. He needs someone willing to take the risk, and I don’t see that in Kasich.
Newt knows what’s going on and is champing at the bit to go.
Coats is very able and if I’m right (which I’ve no reasonable expectation of being, really), he’s had enough of the Bush doctrine and might take the risk because he might not give a crap about threats being issued not to give aid and comfort to the Donald.

He is the ideological opposite of Trump. Why would he pick him? Trump would lose credibility for hos pro America agenda big time. A lot us remember haw bad a choice Bush I was in 1980. No Kasich, no way. Worse choice ever.
