Mitt Romney, the GOPs 2012 nominee, is among those courting prospects for a possible third-party bid to keep Donald Trump from the White House, according to a Washington Post report .
Among those prospects are Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.), one of Trumps most vocal Republican critics, and Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who suspended his presidential campaign in early May.
Kasichs chief strategist John Weaver said the governor isnt interested in running an an independent.
A Sasse spokesman declined to comment.
But its not looking to good for a late in the game third-party bid, according to the report.
Deadlines have passed to get on the ballot in big states like Texas, though organizers argue a legal challenge there would be successful.
Mittens is now the titular head of the TREASON party.
Agreed. I am just skipping that line on the ballot.
The Cheap Labor Express MUST block the citizens from electing a President who enforces the laws and borders.
They failed to stop Trump from winning the GOP nomination despite spending hundreds of millions of dollars.
They will do whatever it takes.
Once thought of as a nice guy, Romney turns into a flaming schmuck. They could call it the “sore loser” party.
Scalping Senator Ben Sasse: How I Ended a Presidential Campaign Before it Started
He really is!! This effort in futility is beginning to fizzle. It is a good thing to see. But we need to be constructive to build bridges to as many NeverTrump’ers as possible. I am doing what I can.
“He not only has a tool missing but the whole box is gone.”
You’re too kind. I think he is the tool.
Just one of a barrage of bogus stories by the Washington post the whitehouse, the Gope and of course the Clinton mob
Wonder if Romney showed Kasisch his poll numbers after he pulled the speech stunt? Because he totally screwed his political future. Those other two will sink with him. Do you think the people can not do the math that an independent is there to do nothing more than to eliminate trump from winning against Bernie or Hillary? Exactly Why would we want to take our vote and let Hillary win? ??? SORRY WE KNOW HILLARY AND HATE HER. THEY WOULD RATHER HILLARY BE PRESIDENT THAN TRUMP.. THAT IS ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW!
Romney “threw” the 2012 election to Obama even after Obama said he expected to lose and had started packing his stuff to move out of our White House. Now Romney is trying to throw the 2016 election to the D’s too!? What a damndable jerk!
Fixed.
Mittens wants the Wicked Witch to win, because he lost. In Mittens's mind, Trump winning would highlight that Mittens should have won in 2012. He wants to defeat Trump because of his own psychological hang-ups.
Yup...he’d need three promotions for that.
Introducing; The Mudd Party!!! “My name is Mudd. I know where all the dirt is!”
I actually was in the MA GOP that helped make Romney governor. And then he did absolutely nothing down-ticket for the the GOP in the state house and senate—which became his excuse for pushing liberal stuff left and right.
So I was horrified about him early on—while so many waxed eloquent about him through his two presidential runs.
Romney is, indeed, evil.
Mittens is obviously a Hillary supporter, but I suspect that he’s underestimated the level of disgust and disinterest people have in his antics. He, along with a number of the GOPe types, see themselves as vastly superior to the masses of the great unwashed and see themselves as having a God given duty to direct us in a manner that is most beneficial to themselves. Well most of us finally woke up and realized that emperor 0bama isn’t the only one without clothes in the Washingon establishment.
Ohio has a sore loser law.
Kasich would have to run as a candidate in another party, a loophole, to get around the law according to one account I have read.
