Mike Lee(R-Utah) said Wednesday that he is not ready to endorse presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump
"I have not supported Donald Trump up to this point, I have not endorsed him," Lee said, according to The Washington Examiner.
"I have some concerns with him. He scares me to death; so does Hillary Clinton
. There is no easy choice right now." Lee had previously endorsed Ted Cruz
, before the Texas senator ended his presidential bid earlier this month. At the time, he said Cruz had a "proven record of fighting for our conservative values and for the issues that matter most to Americans."
The Utah senator said he plans to continue following the election and will make a choice in the future.
"I'll make the decision as best I can," he said, "but I'm not there yet."
Lee now joins several other Republican leaders, who have said they are not ready to endorse Trump or said that they don't plan to vote for the presumptive nominee in a general election.
Speaker Paul Ryan said last week that he was "just not ready" to endorse the presumptive GOP nominee.
Thank you. I feel better now. ;o)
You nailed it. Most of our “representatives” in government couldn’t run a lemonade stand....start with the occupant of the White House. i also think the number of lawyers in government should be limited. There is no excuse for bills of thousands of pages. Hark to the words of Jefferson about too many laws.
Where in the Constitution does it say we must have any immigration at all?
That's why I chose the benign descriptive Trumper, rather than a derogatory name like trumpranger, trumpaloompa, trumpetina, trumpcase, etc. I don't use those insulting names, just Trumper, which is nice. Good day to you!
Great response!
Cruz’s most ardent followers can’t help it; they mirror the attitude of their hero.

Agreed! BUT they have to be made to realize that the race for the nominee is effectively over. It is time to support our candidate and quit the sniping. Their guy lost. Our guy has to win if we are to have a country anymore.
Mike Lee ( like Paul Ryan and others) are hanging on to the hope of a third option, whatever corrupt option that might be.
Too hard a question for you?
I’m sure you’d know.
“...Geez youre sensitive. Trumpers call themselves trumpers. What part of that term seems insulting to you?...”
Totally wrong!!!!
We call ourselves Trump supporters, Trump voters, Trump Americans....
If you can’t accept this, then just don’t call us...We’ll call you....
>>Also, weve already experienced truly scary. For the last 8 years. Were immune to scary.
Lee is riding the Cheap Labor Express. His version of scary is where American employers have to compete for workers. He’d rather fight the “$15/hr minimum wage” boogeyman than face the lowest labor participation rate and highest part time labor rate in most of our lifetimes where people with degrees are working for less than $15/hr. Hungry workers make good serfs. Lee, Obama, Hillary, and Soros like that.
“What name did I call you? Trumper? I’m pretty sure the request was to refrain from insults. That’s why I chose the benign descriptive Trumper...”
I suppose all of the cute adjectives you laid in there, like: “googly-eyed, emotionally invested, blind messianic fervor”, don’t count as insults.
Got it. We noobs had probably better learn that those with old accounts are exempt from respecting the wishes of the owner.
Sorry about your reading comprehension problems but I answered the question in my first post on this thread, the very post you first responded to you. Is “I will vote for him” somehow vague to you? I will vote for Trump. How does that simple declarative sentence bedevil you with its intracacies?
It’s a lot to wrap your brain around. Best of luck to you!
Well I like Mike Lee but if he cannot support our nominee then he needs to stay away from the convention. Cruz also.
Your wishful thinking for Trump to let us all down unless we criticize him mercilessly duing the nomination season when he is the only candidate who not only has a clearly innovative and complete platform, but also has demonstrated skills to enable him to deliver on much of it, is perverse.
Your posts remind me of a friend who vowed never to go see the Beatles or buy their records because so many people loved them. I heard the same criticisms of the paintings of Andrew Wyeth. It’s as if these artists had no objective value due to their popularity.
Bingo! Well stated.
“Its a lot to wrap your brain around.”
Not really, but you’d probably feel insulted if I explained it to you.
Comments on the internet don't have the power to insult me - it's just a bunch of electrons. I'm made of tougher stuff than that!
