Donald Trump announced on Monday that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will serve as the chairman of the transition team. Christie will oversee the team preparing to take over the White House in the fall, according to a statement.
Trump made the announcement as he focuses on the general election after rivals Ohio Gov. John Kasich and Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas suspended their campaigns last week.
"Governor Christie is an extremely knowledgeable and loyal person with the tools and resources to put together an unparalleled Transition Team, one that will be prepared to take over the White House when we win in November. I am grateful to Governor Christie for his contributions to this movement," the presumptive nominee said in a statement.

For Transition Team Chairman? Sure! Don't you?
That’s just because they are hoping to get the coveted VP spot.

Just checking the score card on who we love this week.
Would I want him making policy decisions? No. Would I want him as AG or some legal area which is in his wheel house? Hell yes. It's not always black and white. Just like Guillani, he is a former Federal law enforcement officer and would do well in that area. Don't you agree?
Why so fickle?
Does anyone know how to check to see if this is true?

Local news should be carrying info if they are calling, advertizing, doing meetings, etc.
I personally think the backroom stuff is trying to keep the current delegates in place and trying
to sway other delegates to support them as opposed to Trump at the convention.
It’s not a matter of “who we love”. With that attitude, there would be no one available to lead any team. Because I’m certain that there is some fault with every possibility.
I want him as an AG. He will be on the Dem’s asses like a bad rash that won’t go away.
At least Trump selected a heavyweight to the position.
I agree. I think the people want to vote for him now as well as in November.
No - but he does have some knowledge and skills that will serve nicely. He also had a following among "quasi-conservatives" that may garner more votes by having him involved w/o being in on actual policy decisions - like all advisers, sometimes they make sense and other times they are told, "Thanks but no thanks on that one".
I believe WV has a strange rule that delegates cannot be assigned to a suspended campaign. So there Trump would get all the deletes. Other states don’t work that way.
Well, I'm glad he's not the candidate / presumptive nominee. He should serve well enough in this capacity, though. And as someone else pointed out, this is a psy-ops maneuver. Hillary continues to react, rather than define the race. That's what my previous comment was about - Hillary's reaction to being left in the dust again.
He destroyed Marco Rubio. So he's got that going for him, which is nice.
Of course it’s true - at least for Cruz. His obnoxious emails still pour forth every day. No way has he quit.
Depends on how well he does his job.
