Ryan never expected Trump to lock up the nomination so quickly. He didn't think Texas Sen. Ted Cruz would drop out of the race in May. In fact, Ryan's orbit was preparing for a contested convention in Cleveland, where he is slated to serve as chairman, effectively the emcee of the Trump coronation.

Looks like there really might have been a plan to have him be nominated - the heck with what voters wanted.
These people are not your friends. Everything's clearer now (thanks to Trump): These people work only for themselves and are ready and willing to lie to your face any time.
We already knew that, Trump has just provided validation.
Ryan will be brought into line. Soon.
They were ALL counting on a contested convention.
The people of Indiana slapped them upside the head and put an end to that nonsense.
Thank Carrier. Their ill-timed move opened the door for Trump to wipe the field in that state.
It did not escape my notice that Trump took some very pointed shots at Ryan’s big-spending budget in his victory speech.

Maybe he got the same “don’t worry it won’t be Trump” memo from Professor Teufelsdrockh’s tailors - before the 1st state primary vote had even been cast?
Meh. Stupid founders. “We the People” - what a silly idea.
“(Ryan was counting on brokered convention)”
So were the 60% who supported others in the process.
Since he still won’t endorse Trump I think he may believe even now that Trump can be stopped or will self destruct.
All the more important that Ryan be defeated in his upcoming primary. Also everyone should be on guard for Ryan, as GOP convention chairman, to try and assure that the uniparty nominee, Hillary Clinton, wins in the Fall.
And...
Bobby Knight
Gene Keady
Lou Holtz
Digger Phelps
The endorsements from the coaches played huge in Indiana.
Was at the Trump rally in Carmel this week. Great time. Introduced by Fred “The Hammer” Williamson. Can’t believe that guy is in his late 70s - looks fantastic.
All that needs to happen is for Mr Trump to come out and support his Challenger! Get rid of his worthless butt

Caught something this morning that Ryan was hoping for it all to go to hell so he could be the 2020 nominee. Not sure how out of touch he is since if Trump has this nomination stolen from him, we will not make it to 2020.
He's a snake and he has proven that he hates America.
Counting on a brokered convention?
More like hoping for one.
We have a real good talking point against hillary. hillary is part of the ruling cartel that’s acceptable to the DC elite. A vote for hillary is a vote for George 1 & 2, Jeb, Romney, Ryan, and all the other despicable folks who are destroying the US.
Lets CANTORIZE lil paulie to clean out some dead wood for President Trump; Vote for Paul Nehlen. donate at

Cruz finally got tired of carrying the banner for the Republican party if they were not going to support him. I think he basically said, here you go, Ryan, if you won’t support an actual conservative Republican like me, then you’re on your own against Trump and you can deal with him now, rather than later.
and I’m thinking that Paul Neelan would be interested in having Trump bring the Really Big Shoe back to Janesville for a joint fund-raiser for his challenge to Ryan...just the threat of that (and the accompanying million dollars worth of free PR for his challenger) would probably snap Ryan back in line.
