Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry told CNN Thursday he will support Donald Trump as the Republican presidential nominee and will do everything he can do to help him get elected.
"He is not a perfect man. But what I do believe is that he loves this country and he will surround himself with capable, experienced people and he will listen to them," Perry said Thursday.

First on CNN: Rick Perry endorses Donald Trump for president
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3427967/posts
He is one of the most talented people who has ever run for the president I have ever seen, he added, saying Trump knows how to market and brand like no one he has ever seen.
Rick Perry could be in running for VP!!! I think Mr. T could do worse!!!
Exactly......
Yes BUT if Newt was COS he would be fine with Perry as VP!!!! Perry is VERY MUCH for security of borders, Perry has done ALOT for vets in NEED of help!!! Perry has been GREAT at getting jobs to Texas!!! And to top it ALL off the BUSHES and Perry DON’T like each other!!!
It's sad to see Paul Ryan, among others, still withholding his support when asked. I'm glad that the establishment doesn't care for Trump because he's a repudiation of them, but in the end if he's successful Trump and Ryan will have to work together.
"We can't afford the policies and the character of Hillary Clinton," he added.
Exactly! Perry knows who the real enemy is.
When asked if Perry would consider being Trump's running mate, he left the door wide open.
"I am going to be open to any way I can help. I am not going to say no," Perry said.
I'm not crazy about that idea (it's probably better than some of the choices thrown out there though). Hopefully he'll just give some interviews on Trump's behalf or something like that.
WENDLE what is your problem with Perry??? Just curiuos!!!
I like Perry too. The Bushes and Romney will not be missed at the convention. Who do they think cares that they aren’t there? Not the millions of Trump supporters.
It IS much better for Trump to have the support of the governors rather than the WHORES in DC!!! these governors KNOW EXACTLY what DC has done to ttie their hands in education, mining, regulations for energy, they WILL help Trump FAR MORE that the BASTARDS in the house and senate!!!!
Come on. Perry was great in this interview. He’s on Trump’s side now. We can’t afford to attack our friends. There is too much at stake. We have got to stop Hillary together.
VP gambit
Perry was ANTI TRUMP!! He can now go to living hell!!
I don’t trust Perry in the least; he’s smart enough to realize that Trump is enormously popular and can destroy the Democrats, and he thinks that he’ll be forgiven if he publicly and tepidly endorses Donald Trump while privately and covertly trying to open up new avenues for the GOP-e to regain control of the party.
Does that also include the very same individuals in D.C. who oversaw and supervised many years of decline, country choking debt, lawless violent open boarders, dangerous chain immigration and punitive reckless trade laws? Are these the people we want to continue running the show?
Let me tell you. We don’t need these rino bastard weasels worming back in . I want them run completely off. WE NOW OWN THIS PARTY!! ALL OF IT!!
Let’s at least pretend to be a grown up. You’re a relative newbie....with an attitude problem.
Wonderful!
You made the right decision, Governor.
This will go a long way in creating a united front.
Now let’s get Ready for Hillary
“This is an opportunity for Republican leaders who truly love their country to show their true colors. It is also an opportunity for those who want to flush their establishment butts down the toilet to show their true colors. Bye bye Ryan, Romney, George Jr, George Sr. and Jeb.”
Add to the list:
The Latest: Illinois GOP governor wont endorse Trump
A member of Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauners administration says the Republican governor will not endorse Donald Trump as the GOP standard-bearer in the November election.
Rauner declined to back a candidate during the once-crowded GOP nomination process, although he did express dismay with Trumps rhetoric.
Rauners aide, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the aide wasnt authorized to speak to the media, also says the governor wont attend the July Republican Convention in Cleveland. Illinois Sen. Mark Kirk, a Republican whose re-election effort is being challenged by Democratic Rep. Tammy Duckworth, says he is also skipping the convention.
All I can say is welcome to Trump Train!!!....Tickets ...Tickets....Ticket ..Please..
Pray for those who are attending the July GOP Convention.
