This is such a petty, cowardly thing to do, and so beneath the former presidents.

They are unabashed in their public display of resentment toward Trump. I think this may mean the Globalist timetable has been sped up and the fan is going to be receiving massive input this year, likely this Summer, and the Globalists all know it.

They're not worried or they would have kept their damned traps shut about not voting for DJT.

“With every year that passes, George W does and says more and more to show me that he was never the man I thought he was. Not even close.

This is such a petty, cowardly thing to do, and so beneath the former presidents.”

I cannot disagree with a single word of that. Both have turned out to be incredible disappointments. But I had an expectation that Bush 43 was different than his country-club, elitist father...and he turned out to be just an acorn from the old oak, after all. It is extremely disappointing and, frankly, infuriating to find out how badly we as a nation were hoodwinked and played for the fools.

Jefferson was right - Democracy needs a revolution every 20 years or so. Not necessarily one with ropes over lamp posts, but at least one with the old order getting unceremoniously thrown out on its sorry ass. Of course, after 150 years of NO revolution, maybe it IS time for ropes hung from lamp posts....

I agree that Reagan won 1980 and 1984 all on his own. The more I research about the Bushes the less I like. I read G.W.Bush’s book (Decision Points). In it, he mentioned having Christmas at his grandfather’s (Prescott) house in Connecticut. He mentioned that LBJ visited for that Christmas.

I find this to be a rather creepy fact how so many of these people have been around and continuously connected since JFK death. I will even add that I am not surprised that someone attempted to assassinate Reagan. Would that have happened if Bush wasn’t Reagan’s VP? I bet not!!

I voted for those Bush guys in 1988, 1992, 2000, 2004. Also the primaries. I endured years of people belittling my choices and defending them, especially during the Iraq War fiasco.

I am now convinced that Reagan made a grave error in making Bush Sr his VP. People like this, and the Clintons, think they are entitled. They are insiders and elitists. They are part of the problem.

If they are bitter about Jeb’s loss, fine, but please just stay away in “quiet retirement”.

Bush 43 stayed in Texas in the aftermath of a hurricane in 2008. He gave a speech to the convention via video. He declined an invitation to the 2012 convention. GW (like his father) has been somewhat humble in avoiding overt politics since he left office.

Another reason why I'm hoping DJT selects the best-qualified person for Veep and not merely the best politically-positioned compromise candidate.

We had this discussion on the Rush thread yesterday about W. We were all for him and his war and yet he never closed the borders and had our men killed all for nothing. We should have sent a nice nuke into the Middle East or did air bombing that’s it. I guess he fooled me.

Thank you Yaelle. I remember Bush speech live threads that ran into the thousands of posts. No one cleaned their houses and did their chores as we didn’t want to miss a thing. Then we’d pour Clorox in the toilets, spritz a little Lemon Pledge in the air, and get supper started to fool our families. I lived to support him, watch the rebuilding after 9-11, and aid our troops fighting the good fight. This is a very sad day.

Yes, and Nixon didn’t fit in the standard role as VP under Ike. Very active diplomat!

Maybe they realize they are toxic and that this is helpful for Trump. It seems they would have to know that.

The destroyer of the Reagan Revolution and the destroyer of the country refused to endorse Trump? Good. They can go join the dems where they belong.

I’ve wondered if that’s why W claimed publicly that he didn’t like cRuz. As a favor, to cRuz. We know they worked together on W’s campaign and on the Gore/Bush hanging chad case.
