This was supposed to be the pragmatic Midwestern state that would deny Donald Trump the delegates he needs to secure the Republican presidential nomination. Yet on the eve of Tuesdays critical primary, Indiana appeared poised to help the front-runner get closer to locking it up.
Trump campaigned Monday across the Hoosier State with characteristic gusto, boasting about his polling lead and endorsements from local celebrities and relishing a fight with likely Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. Certain that victory was at hand, Trump predicted Tuesdays balloting would bring the demise of top rival Ted Cruz. From here, he said, it is on to the general election.
If we win Indiana, its over, Trump declared at a boisterous Monday afternoon rally in Carmel. Theyre finished. Theyre gone.
The Indiana primary, with 57 delegates at stake, stands in the minds of many Republicans as the last major hurdle for Trump to clear. Cruz and his allies have poured every resource and maneuver at their disposal into the state in an urgent, last-ditch effort to derail the controversial billionaire mogul.

If he is smart, he will suspend his campaign gracefully, pledge his delegates to Trump and focus on supporting Trump, so we can beat Hillary or whoever the Dem nominee may be.
Cruz has run a laughably bad campaign. If he was smart he would disappear and hope people forget about him him until his senate race. Of course, he hasn’t been smart up to now.
Sorry — just told the Moderator that mine is a duplicate post, you beat me by 10 seconds.
One reservation some of us have about Trump is he’s a boastful winner and a bad loser. Maybe it’s a Midwestern thing, humble farm stock and all, but let’s hope he is bright enough to at least fake the sentiment “Aw, shucks”. If he can do that he’ll beat the living s#!+ out of Hillary.
cue cruz saying IN did not matter and he is on to CA now .
Cruz is right. We're not. That's why we're choosing Trump, the right man for the job who wil help us rebuild our country without personifying any of those negative characteristics with which Ted Cruz attempts to falsely smear Donald Trump.
This is a big reason Cruz has faded. All he has left is derogation of Donald Trump as a hater, etc.
And everybody knows that Donald Trump isn't those things.
Thus Cruz's rhetoric rings false and disingenuous.
Combine that with his outrageous distortions of Trump's policy positions, and it adds up to a typical Machiavellian politician who will do or say anything in order to win, whether it's true or not.
If Ted Cruz makes the right decision after losing Indiana, he still has a chance to salvage his reputation somewhat.
But if he loses Indiana and then still refuses to help unite the party, he will have officially jumped the shark. Right now, it's unofficial.
Vote Trump
He will do whatever the people with the checkbooks tell him to do. I hope he has a job lined up in the private sector with them.
“He will do whatever the people with the checkbooks tell him to do. I hope he has a job lined up in the private sector with them.”
Nobody will want him after he loses, and he will lose.
His only chance is to act gracious, withdraw now, endorse Trump and help him beat Hillary.
He can be tha host of “To Tell the Truth “.....
He can be the host of “To Tell the Truth “.....
For all the talk about how smart Ted is he sure hasn't shown any of those smarts since he started running for President. IMHo, he lacks common sense and lacking that, however much CPU power he may have it's mostly . . .
WasTED
Once Trump wins Indiana, I think he should stop mentioning Lyin Ted altogether. Focusing on Hillary will get Trump more media attention and we can start the run for the General!
“Cruz and his allies have poured every resource and maneuver at their disposal into the state in an urgent, last-ditch effort to derail the controversial billionaire mogul.”
Not to win, mind you, but to stop Trump.
Pretty much tells you all you need to know about the (soon to be former) Cruz campaign.
Cruz using leftist victim pro-government language in personal attacks on Trump? Stick a fork in this guy.
Cruz , Levin, and Beck need to stand down ...it might be boycott time for Beck and Levin if they don’t
