Jon Huntsman, the former Republican governor of Utah who served in the Obama administration, thinks the GOP should stop fighting.
Weve had enough intraparty fighting. Nows the time to stitch together a winning coalition, Huntsman said, according to Politico.
And its been clear almost from the beginning that Donald Trump has the ability to assemble a nontraditional bloc of supporters, he added.
The ability to cut across traditional party boundaries like 80, 92 and 2008 will be key, and Trump is much better positioned to achieve that.
Huntsman was U.S. Ambassador to China under President Obama. His 2012 presidential campaign was marked by criticism of the GOP for focusing too much on satisfying the right wing of the party and avoiding compromise.
After ending his campaign, he skipped the 2012 Republican convention over disagreements with the partys platform.
I will not be attending this years convention, nor any Republican Convention in the future, until the party focuses on a bigger, bolder, more confident future for the United States, he said at the time.
Huntsman said in February that he could see himself supporting Trump for president

Huntsman’s endorsement of DJT should cause concern among Trumpistas, but it won’t.

Don’t see why it should induce concern. At some point there obviously has to be unity behind a candidate heading forward into the general election, and that appears to be all Huntsman is suggesting.
Huntsman hates the Romneys. Its a Utah thing. They are very competitive.
Huntsman also knows that Romney is behind this NeverTrump and delegate shenanigans. We also know that Romney is planning for some surprises at the convention with, more than likely, the help of Ginsburg, just like last time.
“Huntsman was U.S. Ambassador to China under President Obama. His 2012 presidential campaign was marked by criticism of the GOP for focusing too much on satisfying the right wing of the party and avoiding compromise. “
IOW, Bush/Dole/Bush/Bush/McCain/Romney/Romney
Trump is the anti-Huntsman. Huntsman actually said in primary debate that we need more workers, while unemployment was through the roof. He was all about importing cheap labor into the country. Trump better know that this guy is poison. And why is the guy who headed the failed “no-labels” movement suddenly concerned about a label being torn apart?
Trump doesn’t beg and wheedle for contributions and endorsements (and delegates) like Ricky Ricardo. Trump doesn’t crawl on his belly to the GOP like a reptile either.
He doesn’t even ask for such things, but they line up anyway to give him money and endorsements.
Because that’s the way it has always been done, and that’s the way Cruz does it.
Trump fires people.
A. Lincoln complained that one of the things he detested about the job of being president was dealing with the constant patronage job seekers. They were a plague, he said.
Spoiler Felito’s shrinking band of merry men—”true conservatives”—who talked the wife into giving the married lothario their hard-earned pin money from the family sugar jar (maybe you are one of them), not imagining Ted might give it to Snarly or spend it on entertain ing cute, married staffers—one would think that should have caused concern to Cruzers, but apparently it didn’t.
You’re thinking old school. This egg sucker Huntsman goes to the back of the line with the illegals. Trump has changed, is changing and will change everything.
Politics as you know it is over. Resistance is futile. Join the real conservatives’ political revolution.

Second time I saw this posted this weekend and for the second time I take note that Jon Huntsman Sr., father of the Jon Huntsman (ex-Utah Gov. and Obama’s China Ambassador) mentioned in this story, is a major figure in the life of Glenn Beck.
Beck considers the elder Huntsman a ‘mentor’.
I would have thought it was time for the GOP to rally around compromise Candidate Ryan . . . or not-quite-popular Candidate Jeb . . . or politically-flexible Candidate Rubio . . . or well-fed Candidate Christie . . . or the recent trial balloon Candidate Haley . . . or anyone who supports Amnesty, even without enough support in the primaries to matter. Why would the establishment rally around someone who gets actual votes and campaigns for actual change? It makes no sense. Does it?
Excellent!!!

Another RINO for Trump. Seems like they know something you people dont

Another RINO for Trump who sees the writing on the wall. Cruz, the fake conservative, and his fans, can’t seem to get it and get out!
EVERYONE except for the most fervent Cruzlims realize the inevitability of Trump being the nominee.
He’ll go into Cleveland a first ballot winner with more than double the delegates of Lying Ted.
DOUBLE THE DELEGATES AND A RECORD SETTING MILLIONS OF VOTES AHEAD.
What don’t you people get about that? Lying Ted’s only path to victory is a Scorched earth strategy that will forever alienate the 80% of Primary voters that already oppose him. Cruzlam is a suicide mission for the country.
