Donald Trump supporters are a generally happy bunch...
The Cruz campaign in Indiana is in a state of collapse and freefall. By the end of the weekend you can expect the narrative to shift, and the campaign will be pointing fingers toward California (June 7th) because their impending defeat is looming ever more dangerous.
Before getting to a recent poll, lets take a look at the current landscape. Senator Ted Cruz and Carly Fiorina spoke at a campaign rally in South Bend Indiana. In a venue capable of holding more than 2,000 only a few hundred showed up...
Thats the second actual ground report in the past 48 hours highlighting exactly the same thing. The first report we shared yesterday...
My post election night math had 1,003 as solid but virtually identical. So you can see, the probability of Trump earning the remaining 235 (1237 1002 = 235), knowing 51 of those are easily won in New Jersey (winner take all June 7th) makes the outcome of Trump winning enough delegates to capture the nomination a very high probability.
That crossing of the inevitability factor threshold is what we have outlined as the most dangerous time. The angriest moment in the denial phase is right before the ideologically entrenched accept an inevitable outcome.

That is the Ted we see...isn't it.
Great analogy.
@ post 91 - you echo my sentiments exactly. I believe Cruz made a fatal mistake in listening to the campaign advisors who told him he must go ugly on Trump to win. Cruz is horrible in attack mode - simply dreadful. He and Rubio looked like chihuahuas on stage yapping at a St. Bernard. Had he maintained his “campaign about issues” promise and kept the high road I think he would be in far better shape right now and in the future, but he didn’t.
I am not blaming Cruz alone for the campaign being so nasty - they both deserve blame and I was disgusted with both. Cruz is only 45 and he had a chance to position himself very well for the future because he had exceeded the expectations of most everyone, but he blew it. If he thinks his newly found GOPe friends will love him after the campaign he is a fool. They hated him then and still hate him now (only less).
Now it has gotten downright silly. He will lose in Indiana and he and Carly will probably have a press conference to announce their cabinet selections. Reality has left the building.
For better or worse, it is going to be Trump and the focus must be on retiring the Clinton’s once and for all. Cruz would do well to repair the damage, hold his seat in the Senate, and focus on the future. His advisors apparently don’t want the paychecks to end, but the money is drying up and he is going to start racking up debt. His ego-driven efforts are helping Hillary and I can’t forgive him for that.
Run, Caroline, run!

C’mon over baby, a whole lotta smitin’ goin’ on ...
Downs poll first since 2011
While Trump is going to fill this place up today.
NUt not really, because he has people from all sides goading him into continuing, including providing money for him to continue (harrumph... Neil Bush).
They must have interviewed the people who showed up for his last rally. All 400 of them.
I feel the same way. Used to really like Cruz......now he is cartoonist. And that is one of the generous things I can say about him.
I agree with you. I was at first a Scott Walker supporter, then I switched to Cruz, and now I’m off his wagon. It appears that for conservative candidates, there is something corrosive or toxic about the Washington D. C. consultant class. Conservatives turn their campaigns over to the “professionals,” who enrich themselves and turn the candidate into crap.
If I didn’t know better, I would think it was deliberate. Well, actually, I do know better, and it really is deliberate.
Any conservative who hires these parasites is committing political suicide.
But to argue the other way, it might just be in the case of Cruz, that the glare of the presidential race has revealed a lot of flaws that he’d kept hidden from us all this time. People show their true souls when under pressure, and Ted Cruz’ ain’t all that pretty.
You nailed it. To see the real mettle of the person they have to put under pressure in a competitive environment. Cruz came up far short.
I just want that schmuck-head Cruz to be humiliated as soon as possible. Anti-American Canadian Schmuck.
I’m mistaken about what ... the low turnout? The percentage? My fears? What?
