A reflective Jeb Bush said he had no regrets Thursday about his failed presidential bid, saying in his first interview since leaving the race that Donald Trump could still lose the nomination fight.
"There's a possibility that he won't get 50% on the first ballot," Bush told CNN's Jamie Gangel, giving his first television interview exclusively to CNN after dropping out of the presidential race in February. "And if he doesn't do that, there are a whole lot of people who don't believe he's the proper guy."

What we term (contemptuously) the Establishment was the principal beneficiary of the ungodly amount of money that flowed through the Yeb! campaign - people who wonder where that $150 million went don't have far to look: into advertisement and consultancy, the pockets of "experts" who are very happy to have it. In that sense Yeb!'s campaign was not a failure from their point of view, although the donors didn't get the influence they were paying for. But the latter risk is factored into any investment, which is what this is. It's the reason donors give to different, even opposing campaigns. You hedge your bets.
The cynic might note that nothing in this has anything to do with what Yeb! might have or even wanted to accomplish in office. It is the holding of the office that is important, and that's what's wrong with the system.
I’m expecting one or both to have mysterious ‘accidents’.
RUSH is the Bush lap dog who is in the pocket of the entire Bush family. Haven’t listened to him for years.
I cannot tell you how pleased I am to see the total annihilation of the bush influence in our new party. When I look at the wake of damage they inflicted on this country,I get giddy at their being push out. Look at Supreme Court Picks — alone!! Souter? Roberts? . Remember the giant tax increase by 41 after he lied to us. The global interventionism . Never vetoing a pork filled spending bills . I say good riddance and GO TRUMP.
Yikes! We both missed the most obvious weasel urine choice... Busch! Maybe even Busch Light!
Of course he does. He still thinks he will be at the top of the ticket and will have Ted as his VP
Get out da Bushes
I wonder if he’s on suicide watch?
Kahn!!!!!!!!
Trump!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A possibility that is growing fainter and fainter with each passing day.
Poor Jeb. It was his turn. He raised so much money that no one else would bother running. And he still managed to lose. He even had a message: “Illegal Immigration is an Act of Love”. How could he have failed with all that going for him?
At least we haven’t heard much from Rand recently.
“The guy who blew $150,000,000 and didnt win a single delegate.”
That is very telling.
I don't care for Trump politically or personally. I have serious reservations that he will be to office of POTUS what Bloomberg was as mayor of NYC. The office is too powerful made so by GOP congress under GW Bush. Remember him going around using the War on Terror for every under the sun including his pro-China trade policies?
Since 1996 I have looked elsewhere come General Election time and choosing a POTUS. I will likely do this again this year. But as for Trump? If he meets the required number of delegates to win the nomination unless a major criminal scandal occur he should get the nomination fair and square. These actions come from a group of elitist who believe they own all say in the party based on who they are and who's interest they serve. No one other than lawful private citizens whom vote should decide who is POTUS. Anything other then this is nothing less than tyranny and a slap in the face to our election process.
Why is fatso opening up his pie-hole now? It’s not like anybody cares what he thinks!
on behalf of lyin’ ted, jeb endorses contested convention
this will really help teddy boy, the back stabber
Hey Jeb, can you muster the energy for Cleveland?
ANSWER: They STOLE IT FROM THE AMERICAN TAXPAYER; they have "gamed the system" for decades and know that their ongoing thievery is coming to an end if TRUMP gets nominated and elected.
