Trump’s sweep is another humiliating defeat for media and political elites
Washington Post ^ | April 26, 2016 | Joe Scarborough

Donald Trump’s sweeping victories Tuesday night move the Manhattan billionaire a step closer to winning the Republican nomination for president and to pulling off the most improbable political feat in modern American history. But Trump’s story is about more than a first-time candidate’s stunning rise. It is also about the humiliating defeat suffered by an increasingly isolated political and media class who still do not understand the causes and scope of Trump’s populist revolt.

In his book “Coming Apart: The State of White America, 1960-2010,” Charles Murray wrote about the rise of a new American upper class and the “narrow elites” who shape America’s economy, culture and government. The number of players who dominate the direction of media, politics and finance is surprisingly concentrated for a country as sprawling and diverse as the United States. And yet almost all of these “influencers” across Manhattan and Washington were incapable of blunting Trump’s meteoric rise. Time and again over the past year, Washington insiders and media moguls misread the mood of working-class voters and their attraction to the populist message championed by Trump.

Thanks MaxFlint. I have to agree on that one.

-—Most of the left cannot think without the media, they use talking points delivered to them daily.

That’s not as true as it used to be.

I troll around on other sites and sew seeds of discord with the Bernie folks just for fun.

They have their own tinfoil hat theories and many HATE the media. They are quite easy to suggestion though, any sort of goofy idea seems to sprout after being planted.

But all in all, the hardcore left really thinks Bernie is going to win, all the poll numbers are lies, all the media (including MSNBC) are in the tank for Hillary.

A LOT of Bernie folks hate Clinton more than they hate Trump, I can tell you that. She’s going to have some serious problems once she formally locks the nomination.

I imagine the sheer amount of motorcades in DC and in NY (when the UN is in session) has to be infuriating if you are trying to get from point A to point B.

You would think so, but the motorcade size was about the same as Trump’s. They only need to secure the intersections so far ahead and behind.

I know there is a lot of hatred of Hillary on the left. I think that is one of the main reasons we have Obama. Just as we say anyone but Hillary I have heard many Democrats say the same.

They claim Trump has an issue with women, but I am convinced Hillary has a big issue with male voters. I hear Democrat men say they will not vote for her. Not sure who they are voting for since they don’t seem like Bernie people.

I think the election will turn out to be far different than most think it will be. I think many on the left are looking for something different.

I had not noticed many of them hate the media. Hope everyone in this country is starting to wake up that the media is in the tank.

Now that CNN is showing Trump with 52 total delegates likely in PA:

http://edition.cnn.com/election/primaries/states/pa/Rep

Current delegate count according to them, and I have found them to be fairly accurate is:

Trump: 991
Cruz: 568
Kasich: 154

http://edition.cnn.com/election/

As I predicted on the Primary Thread yesterday, Trump got over 100 of the delegates last night.

I expect he will go well over the top (probably by 50 or more delegates at this point), on June 7th.

If Cruz is interested in the GOP (without any “e”) winning in November, then he needs to concede next week after Trump (in all likelihood) takes Indiana.

I pray to God that is what he will do. He has the power to:

1) Unite the party by so doing.
2) Deliver a huge blow to the GOPe by so doing.
3) Set up for a big GOP NOvember win.

My Open Letter to Ted Cruz
http://www.jeffhead.com/Cruz-ltr.htm

I say all of this as one who has diligently supported Cruz...but recognizes the truth of the situation and the absolute need to defeeat the Dems in November.

I agree and I hope Trump and Cruz can work together.

Cruz is intelligent. Cruz is a strong conservative. He would be a great addition to a Trump administration.

Well, true, but the kinds of things he measures are wealth (Have you ever been poor? Have you ever worked a job where something hurt at the end of the day?) and culture (Do you know what Branson is? How often do you eat at Denny’s or Chili’s?)

True with the suits being close. But, these days, you either get close, as the muzzies do and set off a bomb, or you do it from long distance with a high powered rifle, with a nice little scope attached. Any assassin who wants to survive the encounter will do it from distance. The nut with a bomb or something does it up close. Which ever, he needs to watch out, because the hate meter is at max level. He is not really safe from either side of the aisle.

I have maintained all along that Trump will have to win 50% in some election in order to win the Republican nomination.

If he gets 50% of the primary votes, he is going to get to 1237, no matter what.

If he can string together a series of 50%+ wins in a bunch of primary states, particularly as the process moves into the final months, he will get to 1237.

If he can’t get to 1237 through the primary process, then he would have to get to 1237 at the convention. This has always been the most problematic of the three for Trump, since he is such a party outsider. It is my opinion that if Trump is not at 1237 on the first ballot, he will not get there on any subsequent ballot.

So for Trump to win the nomination, he has to start stringing together a series of 50%+ victories in the primaries. Since New York, he has been doing just that. If this trend continues, he will go into Cleveland with 1237 delegates, he will be the Republican nominee, and I will support him.

Trump was not my first choice. But if he is the choice of the Republican Party, then he is my guy.

Of course, I would vote for a dead dog in the street before I cast a vote for Hillary Clinton.

Your "friend" should visit Gettysburg, Antietam, The Wilderness(I have) and see the senseless slaughter that the SOUTH instigated, they fired on Fort Sumter, the repeatedly refused overtures to reconcile with the Union, they even had in their Constitution that slavery should be maintained. I put Southern romanticizers up there with Holocaust deniers. Robert E. Lee should have been hung as the traitor he was.

Your FRiend should read and see 12 Years a Slave. The gentile South is a fiction. The South started the war and North brought it. Since the founding of the country the South was warned slavery would tear the country apart. They stubbornly refused reform and with collusion with pro slavery Northerner profiteers, based their whole economy on the fruits of PURE UNADULTERED EVIL. Creating alternate truths is a thing the left does, the South deserved to be put in their place.

Oh born and bred Floridian and I went to an SEC school. I have relatives that fought for the South. I am ashamed of them. So I do have Southern Bona Fides.
