Ted Cruz, John Kasich join forces to stop Donald Trump
CNN ^ | April 24, 2016 | David Mark

Ted Cruz and John Kasich issued startling statements Sunday night about their paths ahead, the first sign the two campaigns are coordinating to deny Donald Trump the Republican presidential nomination.

Within minutes of each other, the pair issued statements saying they will divide their efforts in upcoming contests with Cruz focusing on Indiana and Kasich devoting his efforts to Oregon and New Mexico. The strategy is aimed at blocking Trump from gaining the 1,237 delegates necessary to claim to GOP nomination this summer.

Its still faulty math. Its makes assumptions that are unwarranted and opposite to real world results.

I would not be surprised if a Cruzlim tried to hijack a commercial airliner and tried to fly it in to the Trump Tower. Cruzlims and Muslims are becoming increasingly indistinguishable, what with their love of violence and taqqiya.

Once again, math is math. No assumptions.

The Flaw is that it assumes all on one side of the equation are actually part of that equation. Fact is many of the Kaisch and Rubio as well as more and more Cruz people will be on the Trump side of the equation.

The faulty assumptions were Garbage in which gave garbage out.

There was only one scenario in discussion - votes accumulated thus far:

The assertion: It seems that from the vote totals, MORE want Trump than the others...

The reality: The math says otherwise. Through the NY primary, a majority of voters wanted "other than Trump."

No one made assertions about how "other than Trump" voters would vote going forward in various hypothetical situations.

The only garbage is your attempt to conflate the facts being discussed.

Your BS math equation also left out the facts NY was a closed primary and registration deadlines were way back in October - Which looked very different from now. Also left out the fact Trump pulls from democrats, moderates indis and new, none of which were in your numbers.

This a BS Cruz talking point. Its repeated on several threads now. And its garbage.

“I have no idea what that means.”

I know. You’re just an unbiased and disinterested observer, commenting on the pure mathematics of the Republican primary.

Wink.....nod.

I supported Tea Partiers like Cruz and Dave Brat to take over the RINO party with conservatives. You can oppose Cruz for the presidency if you want, but all this talk that he should be primaried out of the Senate is just horrible. He’s a genuine Tea Party conservative who’s done great work for our side in the Senate.

Cruz has done nothing in the Senate except to move the United States closer to losing its sovereignty...He moved to eliminate the middle class under the guise of a pro Constitutional conservative...He's done nothing to save the Nation...He works only to save the corrupt Republican Party...He is fully funded by the GOPe Washington Cartel he's been railing about...The same Washington Cartel that is handing our Country over to the United Nations...

We need to continue supporting the Tea Partiers in Congress and other positions nationwide and not mindlessly lump them in with the GOP establishment.

Yah...Tea Party like Conservative has become meaningless...What does Tea Party now stand for???

I don't claim to be unbiased and I am certainly not a disinterested observer. I do try to be objective because I am analytical by nature.

I wasn't commenting on the mathematics of the primary in general. I commented about something very specific. That you interpreted my comment as an attack on Trump is reflective of the adversarial nature of this primary and your likely interaction with "rabid" Cruz supporters. I'm not one of them. Please don't make this personal.

Has anyone reported that Rupert Murdoch gave 200K to Kasich’s Super Pac back in July? I never saw this reported anywhere

I live in New Mexico, where the diarrhea duo have decided that Kaisich is to be the single on the ballot against Trump.

I have been a Cruz supporter, but it looks like I will be voting for Trump.

I will NOT cast a vote for the Idiot from Ohio.

Lets cut to reality here. Cruz is not expected to do well in Oregon or NM according to what I have read. So now he’s giving up those two states to let Kasich have them. He’s doing it because he knows he can’t win there anyway not because of any grand plan he has with Kasich. Now Cruz has an excuse when he does poorly in Oregon and NM. The whole thing is pathetic.

Huh? Everything I’ve read suggested that Cruz would win New Mexico, a state fairly similar to his neighboring home state of TX. In the last NM poll, which was admittedly a while ago, Cruz led Trump by 1% in the state. It certainly would have been a real possibility for him to pick up. I’ve usually been pretty optimistic about Trump’s prospects, but my state predictions have always listed NM as a likely Cruz win.

Although I think Trump would have won Oregon anyway, Cruz still would have played well in the rural, more conservative western part of the state and would have had a chance in the state if he had some sort of momentum going into it.

I think the reason they picked IN, NM, and OR is that they thought those were the most competitive states where Trump could still be beaten potentially (excluding of course obvious Cruz wins like Nebraska and South Dakota). Kasich wanted NM and OR because it’s still unlikely that he’s going to win any more states, so he needs the proportional states to get any delegates out of it at all. Cruz had to give up something Kasich wanted, but at the same time he knows that because they’re proportional he’ll still get some delegates. He doesn’t seem to realize how bad it looks to win so few states though.

Let me just add that you may be right about Cruz’s motives, if he did recent private polling of those states that no one knows about and saw support moving away from him. I think it’s more likely though that he is just desperate to do anything to win Indiana, and he thinks this will ensure him a win there (highly questionable).

“Please don’t make this personal.”

I’m not making anything personal. I’m merely responding to, and critiquing commentary that you posted on an open public forum. Am I not allowed to voice an opinion on what you said?

You’ve been around long enough to know how this works, and you certainly ought to have grown a hide by now. I’m not even being particularly harsh in my replies (though I will own up to a bit of sarcasm in that last post).

Not to worry. The thread is probably dead now anyway, so we’re really just talking past each other.

Have a great day.

Cruz and Kasich are turning into Jeb Bush. First they will stand on their tippie toes and see if that works and if not they are going to tell their Mommy so she can come out and campaign for them. Neither one has a chance so now their going to piss on the food so nobody can have any. What these morons are doing is exactly why Trump is so far ahead. They are showing what is wrong with politics nowadays in this country and why the country is on a downward spiral. One of these morons is a state senator and the other one is a governor, God help us.

Those numbers mean nothing much

You could do that with any race

“Oh wow second and third have more votes than first place”

I think nationwide so far nearly 9 million

And you know who most of them signed up for

Wrong bucko. I have supported(financially) Cruz and Trump (and a measly 50 to Fiorrina early on when she sounded good) and will vote for either well ahead of the witch. Channel your anger elsewhere as you are way off the mark here. I hide behind nothing.

Some folks just cannot grasp that these candidates are just flawed humans as we all are. Why worship them as your God when they are seeking self promotion and aggrandizement on a global scale?

Good luck with your presidential preference come convention time. I want them to fight a good fight, compete hard, and then emerge a better candidate to defeat the communists. If either does not they will be slapped hard—but I have not heard of rules violations thus far. I have heard whining from both Cruz and Trumpster, and it is unbecoming of both—and does not win votes or delegates.
