Ted Cruz and John Kasich issued startling statements Sunday night about their paths ahead, the first sign the two campaigns are coordinating to deny Donald Trump the Republican presidential nomination.
Within minutes of each other, the pair issued statements saying they will divide their efforts in upcoming contests with Cruz focusing on Indiana and Kasich devoting his efforts to Oregon and New Mexico. The strategy is aimed at blocking Trump from gaining the 1,237 delegates necessary to claim to GOP nomination this summer.

You think they will attempt to assassinate Trump?
Yep, "outplayed" all the way to winning the nomination.
You Cruzers are hilarious.
Trump is the one who again and again has taken positions which have proven to be "temporary."
Why is it “bad behavior” to try to win an election?
Why do you feel Kasich and Cruz are obligated to both campaign in Indiana and split the Trump opposition vote? What rule says they have to do that?
You can be upset that this hurts Trump’s chances of winning the state, but to say there is something morally wrong with this makes no sense at all. This is smart strategy on their part. It’s a campaign tactic that on a moral level is purely neutral.
The Globalist Masters show no respect for human life.
‘Trump’s been offering to make a deal with the establishment like Reagan did with Bush in 80.’

And you have proof of this where?
If Trump doesn’t get 1237 delegates going into the convention, how is he going to get the nomination? It’s Trump who has to come up with some kind of strategy to do it. It’s either an alliance with Cruz, Rubio, Kasich or possibly collecting unbound delegates’ support.
Trump supporters shouldn’t be complaining that some candidates are strategizing. They need to be asking what Trump’s strategy is going to be to win a contested convention. Or, alternatively, how does he win 1237 outright, which probably means he needs Indiana and the lion’s share of California. If Trump can get over 50% in Indiana, then this piece of strategy is irrelevant.
Gingrich came out for a form of amnesty in the 2012 debates. There are very few immigration hardliners above the level of congressmen. Cruz, Sessions and Lee are the only Senators I’m aware of.
You party groupies just don’t get it.
Neither Cruz nor Trump are beating Hillary in the polls now, but Cruz is much closer.

A multi-candidate primary vote gives you no way of knowing how a 2-candidate general election vote will line up. All we have to go on are these polls.
Again, a reminder to ALL Trump bashers that the owner of this site has, (in his most recent thread titled “President Hillary is Totally Unacceptable”), made it clear that he wants his site to be 100% in support of the front runner, Mr. Trump, to be united behind DJT in our efforts to defeat the Beast.
He states that if you are unable to stop posting your Trump Bashing words, to please, in Jim’s words: “Take it Elsewhere”.
It is his site, not yours. Please respect his wishes.
Thank you.

I supported Tea Partiers like Cruz and Dave Brat to take over the RINO party with conservatives. You can oppose Cruz for the presidency if you want, but all this talk that he should be primaried out of the Senate is just horrible. He’s a genuine Tea Party conservative who’s done great work for our side in the Senate. The singleminded focus on Trump and the presidency and ripping every other elected Republican is counterproductive. We need to continue supporting the Tea Partiers in Congress and other positions nationwide and not mindlessly lump them in with the GOP establishment.
People are “on” to mis and dis-information “polls” that the con artists use with which to manipulate, brainwash, dis-spirit the opposition.
I’d tell you to “Give it Up”, Jedi, but I know you are one of those die-hard Cruz supporters who will never do so.
Me, I’m off to bed now, as it’s way too late here in FL!
Enjoy the rest of your evening.
“All is fair in love and war.”
Not when our nation is on the line.
People need to choose. It’s either USA or NAU. Our nation will be finished. I don’t think our leaders will like the backlash.
It is like saying a person can’t beat a mid level fighter but can take the championship. Those polls are bogus. If you can’t win the popular vote in the primary you have no chance in November.
People really need to use common sense and logic it seems to very illusive these days.

That’s just it. You think I have some sort of beef. I don’t. I’m not a fan of any of the three remaining candidates but I’ll vote for the nominee.
No, I’m not unhappy about the lack of a majority. As I said, I was very simply discussing the election math in response to a specific post. It seems you and a couple others received that discussion as an attack on Trump.
Yes, it is clear that Trump has a plurality in 20 of the 32 state primaries/caucuses held thus far. I said that several comments back.
Any (ANY) FReepers still out there thinking either of these two whiners are in this to win.
You are WRONG. You need to back off, and you need to stop participating in the sell-out of our process. You are going to elect Hillary.
They are both sold out to the entire GOPe. Who is going to elect Hillary.
This is absolutely disgusting.
DITTO!!
Those groups like “Freedom Works” and so on take money out of people’s pockets to pretend to care about the issues and making a difference in Washington.
They promote themselves by advertising on the talk shows on the radio etc. etc.
What a fraud it all is.......
