Now will we grasp that the United States is not our friend, but a foreign country whose interests are often different from ours?

President Obama's blatant intervention in our internal affairs is not a sudden breach of a soppy 'special relationship'. The USA's only real special relationship is with Saudi Arabia, a 70-year old hard pact of oil, money and power, welded together with such cynicism it out to make up gasp.

Barack Obama's open desire for us to stay inside the EU is by no means the first or worst example of White House meddling here in these islands. Bill Clinton forced us to cave to the Provisional IRA in 1998 and his successor, George W. Bush, continued the policy by making us to Sinn Fein's bidding afterwards.

Washington came close to scuppering our recapture of the Falklands in 1982. And with the current state of our Armed Forces, which can nowadays do nothing without American support, I often wonder how the White House and the Pentagon would behave if Argentina once again seized Port Stanley.

If anyone thinks Hillary Clinton is a great friend of Britain, they're in for a big surprise.

But surely the Americans fought with us should to shoulder against the Kaiser and Hitler? Not exactly. The USA (quite rightly) fought for its own interest in both great wars, not for us.

When we ran out of money after the First World War, Washington seized the chance to force us to limit our Navy, and so began to overtake us as the world's major naval power. We had feared Germany would do this. It is one of the great ironies of history that the USA ended British sea power.

Simplistic. Without Britain and America, victory would not have been possible. As well as the Empire, Commonwealth and French/French Imperial troops. We are discussing only WW1, and the US contribution has been exaggerated from helpful and crucial to solely war-winning. Without US troops, the Allies would still have won. The British/Empire and French war plans expected to fight into 1919 and had already in early 1918 indentified the units needed to be built up or recalled from other fronts (such as Palestine).

Its the simplistic language of ‘saved’, dig you out etc that’s bad history. Also Americans ignore actually how they relied on the British in both world wars. From supplies to technology, sea power to intelligence.

Our military was woefully unprepared for WWI. No machine guns, not enough rifles, no worthwhile combat aircraft, etc. Only the USN had a semblance of preparedness.

We did take advantage of the UK - for instance most of the initial work on the A-bomb was done by the UK - and we grabbed it and ran.
But for the most part we contributed bodies, beans and bullets at increasing rates.

I happen to like the British Empire, but this is revanchist revisionist bull.
The US would have matched the British Navy by 1925 and the British were BROKE. We were building newer classes of ships, while the British were dependent on pre-war designs. The Japanese were literally bankrupting themselves even after the 1923 Kanto Earthquake on building their navy. Limiting Naval spending was in everyone's interest.

Eisenhower's decisions to destroy the French and British Empire in order to screw Israel and help the pro-Soviet Arabs is another matter.

No, there is little Muslim-white sexual intermingling. More likely to be white girls and young black British men (of Caribbean descent).

I want Muslim immigration/immigration limited and extreme Muslims either deported or the native born ones taken off the streets for a long time. I wouldn’t kill/deport them all, anymore than I blamed all Irish in the UK for the IRA.

I seem to remember an attack on an airport in Scotland. Carried out by several muslims and one or two turned out to be local doctors. Then, there was the California shooting where the male & female muslims shot up the Christmas party of co-workers.

No; it was the Kingdom of Iraq, not the Republic of Iraq, that involved Britain giving independence to the area thereof, and Churchill was not PM in 1932; not even Chamberlain was. T.E. Lawrence had a big hand in that independence push. Furthermore, Churchill was not the PM in 1947; it was Clement Attlee, who ended the military occupation.
