Simplistic. Without Britain and America, victory would not have been possible. As well as the Empire, Commonwealth and French/French Imperial troops. We are discussing only WW1, and the US contribution has been exaggerated from helpful and crucial to solely war-winning. Without US troops, the Allies would still have won. The British/Empire and French war plans expected to fight into 1919 and had already in early 1918 indentified the units needed to be built up or recalled from other fronts (such as Palestine).

Its the simplistic language of ‘saved’, dig you out etc that’s bad history. Also Americans ignore actually how they relied on the British in both world wars. From supplies to technology, sea power to intelligence.

True.
Our military was woefully unprepared for WWI. No machine guns, not enough rifles, no worthwhile combat aircraft, etc. Only the USN had a semblance of preparedness.
