Trump: I would change GOP platform on abortion
CNN ^ | 04/21/16 | David Wright

Posted on 04/21/2016 10:32:44 AM PDT by writer33

Donald Trump said Thursday he would change the Republican Party platform's position on abortion to include exceptions for rape, incest and the life of the mother.

Trump made the remarks during a town hall on the "Today" show on NBC on Thursday morning when host Savannah Guthrie asked him about abortion exceptions.

"The Republican platform every four years has a provision that states that the right of the unborn child should not be infringed," Guthrie said. "And it makes no exceptions for rape, for incest, for the life of the mother. Would you want to change the Republican platform to include the (abortion) exceptions that you have?"

"Yes, I would. Yes, I would. Absolutely," Trump said. "For the three exceptions, I would."

Currently, the Republican platform abortion policy reads: "We assert the sanctity of human life and affirm that the unborn child has a fundamental individual right to life which cannot be infringed."

Numerous polls show Ted running about even with Hillary — and Hillary crushing Trump.

Romneybot began shifting hard left, once he scammed enough conservatives to go along with him.

McCain did as well once Palin sucked enough conservatives behind him.

I do not like this practice being done by any of our potential candidates. And yet they all do it. And continue to do it. I think some deliberately do it as part of their strategy and knew they were going to all along. I think others get led into saying such crap because they have their guard down.

Abortion is not going away. Most voters would make those exceptions I think. But if he thinks it will get him the women’s vote think again.

His negatives are off the charts with women. That’s a huge problem in a general election.

Sorry, but you're wrong. Try selling it to someone who wasn't verbally scourged, spat and shat upon four years ago, on this very site, by numerous shrill, bug-eyed Kolob Kommandos. Ain't nobody here buyin'.

As for the whole adultery thing: oh, yeah. Do go there, by all means.

And we will continue to tell them so in the future.

Psalm 137

1 By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion.

2 We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof.

3 For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.

4 How shall we sing the Lord’s song in a strange land?

5 If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning.

6 If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.

7 Remember, O Lord, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase it, rase it, even to the foundation thereof.

8 O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us.

9 Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.

I agree. I’m a Trump supporter all the way.

I was just saying Trump is conservative enough for me - I read his position statements. Then sometimes he says things a little “toward the center” for public consumption, to make the conservative positions a little easier for democrat crossovers and independants to swallow.

There are lots of blue collar union workers and Bernie supporters lining up to vote for Trump, because he isn’t beholden to lobbyists and he is poking his finger in the eye of the cheap labor cartel and elite establishment. So since he’s smart, he’ll avoid getting branded as too conservative over these social ‘gotcha’ issues. This is why Trump actually has a shot in November.

But then Cruz cluelessly jumps all over him and says “Trump is wrong about transgenders in rest rooms, Trump is wrong to make exceptions for abortions, Trump is wrong to not let poor people die on the sidewalk, Trump is not a conservative!!”

Trump slowly shakes his head in disbelief and says “Oy vey! What am I going to do with this guy?”

Dirty little secret: so are Hillary's.

As a guy who has managed large mostly-female staffs for years, let me tell you....most women will choose the boorish, lewd, obnoxious male boss over the shrewish, conniving female one every time.

This guy just doesn't get it. This alone makes him unsupportable to millions of Pro-Life Republicans.

Yes, and Trump said this some time ago, but his pro-life supporters either ignored it, never took the time to seek out his stance on it to begin with, or they just don't care about the babies conceived through rape/incest.

And how is Trump going to change the abortion laws as President?

If Cruz were elected President, he couldn't either.

These are not presidential issues, no matter how much the Cruz zealots want to make them so!

Those 3 exceptions have always been accepted as reasonable ones.

Yes abortion is bad but you will get nowhere not eliminate every last abortion trying to ban all abortion period.

. . . but you will have waaaay fewer abortions. And not only those lives will be saved, but the culture itself will be changed. If life is claimed (falsely) to be cheap, everything is up for grabs.

You saw what the Dems did to Romney in the 2012 general.
By the time it was over they had most voters believing that he was a dog-abusing polygamist who shipped jobs to India and drove around giving people cancer.

They’ll have them believing three-times as much crap about Ted. Because they’re already starting to.
