Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX)said Wednesday morning that a contested Republican convention is certain and that supporters of Donald Trump are ultimately helping Hillary Clinton reach the White House.
During a radio interview for a Philadelphia morning show, Cruz predicted with certainty that the Republican Party is headed to a contested convention. He suggests Trump supporters might as well put a Hillary sticker on your car.

This must be the unity of the GOP he’s calling for.
Hey, that
And that, is just my own $0.02. ;)
could be the beginning of healing the rift. Understand that we are really all on the same side, we just differ on the best means to get to our common goal. The Dems don’t have our goals, quite the opposite in fact - we ALL need to remember that.
Cruz is trying to ensure a Hillary win by causing a contested convention, all because of his huge ego. The most conservative, most Christian candidate is fine with bypassing the will of the voter.
That’s the problem with Ted It’s all about him and not the country.
All polls should be taken with a healthy dose of skepticism, but they do show a general trend when taken as a whole. Many don’t see Trump in the same way that you do.
Glad to hear it!
Ted, it’s over.
Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
The entire women card is faked up on bad info and can be countered with education. Which will occur in the General. In other words the so called unfavorable the democrat poll-pushers have been pushing on every GOP for decades only work on lo-infos - which can be corrected with information.
Name one election where the polls did not say the GOP was anti-Women, racist, war-monger, etc. this election is not happening in a vacuum, nor are the attacks new,
I don’t think any of us truly knows a candidate well in the beginning. The longer they are giving speeches, the more you begin to see that person for what they truly are.
Don’t be so hard on yourself. I think we’ve all liked someone in the beginning and as time went on, they have shown that they are not who we thought they were.
Pretty soon Cruz and Beck will be indistinguishable
Ted is a career government employee acting like a petulant child seeking to cause mischief.
He just won’t accept that 1) he can’t win and 2) the voters don’t like him
And you seem to not get there are two sides competing in the general so yes a primary that shows more then the Base coming out is an objective sign of the path of the general.
You ignore the almost 200 million in negative ads on Trump have an effect to the lo-info - that all the ones from our side will stop in the General. Moreover. What you hate about Trump (based on bad information) is why so many moderates and even democrats who cannot stand Hillary will use to justify voting for Trump. In other words, the BS hyped up alleged liabilities the GOPe has been pushing about Trump become assets in the General
So, right off the bat two fundamental changes occur that will change the General numbers, The Attacks on Trump by our side will stop, and the moderates, blue dogs, new voters and vengeful Bernie supporters will be getting on the Trump Train. Plus Trump has not opened up on Hillary yet and there is a lot of ammo there to work with.
You further demonstrate your lack of understanding the difference between a primary election and general and instead replace reality with your own personal fantasy.
And if you’re of the alternative reality that the ads that have ran against Trump are going to stop or have all been used up, or that the issues that conservatives have with Trump will end and they’ll be replaced with liberals and independents, then you’re more deluded than I even thought.
Ask yourself, who is paying for the free polls and why?
And couldn't even get 50% of the vote in his home state of Texas (got 43.8%) -- before his campaign manager said Trump should drop out if he didn't get 50% in NY (he got 60.4%).
Current public and private polls say differently. Keep on your this path and we will welcome the wicked witch from the north into the White House.
The most likely result right now, even after last nights voting, is that Trump ends up somewhere between 1100 and 1200 pledged delegates. The decision, then, is still likely to be made at the convention, even after all is said and done.
So dont buy the hype. This thing isnt over, not by a long shot.
.... Yup .... 'Tis the sobering truth! .... I remember merely a year ago the popular GOP mindset was looking forward to a possible massive victory come this Federal Election ..... And it appeared to be happening!
.... However many were cautioning not to get too excited because Republicans greatest strength .... is the amazing ability to constantly and consistently snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
.... And it appears it is happening yet again with great fervor. Republicans have little capacity to work together as a cohesive team.
Yep, but Cruz is not an honorable man.
He clearly hates the "will of the people" because of course he knows better.
Throw in the towel is like quitting a move or two before the other guy INEVITABLY wins in chess. It isn’t really quitting, it is recognizing reality.
Cruz cannot win on the first ballot - reality. He, himself, advised Kasich to leave the race for that very reason.
Cruz can, therefore, ONLY win on a 2nd, 3rd, whatever ballot - and that pretty much guarantees that millions of people that would otherwise vote against Hillary will, instead, stay home. That’s what civil wars do, and the longer they drag on, the more brutal they become, and the longer the healing process takes.
All that I am asking Cruz to do is to face reality and deal with IT, not with some hypothetical future that has little chance of becoming reality. He’s young, he’ll have other chances...if he doesn’t completely blow up the Party by continuing an unwinnable campaign.
It isn’t quitting, its taking one for the team. Note that there is no “I” in “team” - and, YES, I got that from someone else...is it any less valid because of that?
Won't happen, just like New York didn't forget.
