Trump, Clinton Sweep New York
howiecarrshow.com ^ | 4/20/16 | Howie Carr

Posted on 04/20/2016 5:36:40 AM PDT by raccoonradio

Rafael Ted Cruz, Jr. had a big problem last night with New York values.

His problem was, New York values a chance to actually vote for the candidates. So the Empire State didn’t cancel its primary, or pick the delegates in smoke-filled back rooms, the way Ted Cruz prefers to have the fights fixed for him by his Republican-in-name-only (RINO) handlers.

Another problem for Cruz: he’s the favorite son… of Calgary, Alberta. Donald Trump is the favorite son of Queens, New York.

They weren’t counting Donald Trump’s votes last night in New York, they were weighing them. And for the record, even before last evening, Trump had 8.2 million votes in all the primaries so far, compared to Ted Cruz’s 6.3 million.

Remember that the next time you hear Cruz bragging about his string of “victories” or dismissing “hard-core Trump supporters.” Yesterday Ted said the Trump campaign was “a Kim Kardashian reality show.” What does that make the Cruz campaign – a Pat Nee reality show? Which lasted, what, four weeks.

Another New York value — New York is in the Eastern time zone. Cruz can’t buy a thrill here in the East. (The only state he’s won here is Maine, which had, what else, caucuses.) Cruz also doesn’t sell in populous areas, except for his home state, Alberta – I mean, Texas, which is Central time. Likewise, Cruz is a killer in the Mountain time zone. Willard M. Romney thinks Cruz is the bee’s knees.

In the Mountain time zone, with their 53 or so electoral votes, Cruz is the toast of the town. In New York, he’s just plain toast.

But New York? His kind of town, New York is not Ted Cruz’s kind of town, or state. Not enough holy rollers or snake handlers. Not everybody in New York speaks English, but very few speak in tongues. Sorry, Rafael.

Poor Cruz has got the same problem these next few weeks. Take the Nutmeg State – don’t see too many al fresco baptisms along the banks of the Connecticut River in Hartford. Jim Bakker and Jimmy Swaggart were never SRO in Bridgeport.

Poor Ted Cruz. He’s got to be thinking this morning… if only the GOP had super delegates, like the Democrats do. Dammit, Hillary doesn’t have to worry about losing all these primaries! All the RINO’s are falling in behind Rafael, even Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the Senate majority leader whom Cruz called a liar on the floor of the Senate last summer.

Now McConnell is telling a Louisville TV station that he’s “cautiously optimistic” that the convention will be “contested.” In other words, he’s cautiously optimistic that he and Paul Ryan-O and Willard and Juan Ellis Bush and all the rest of them can steal the nomination from the guy who got the most votes.

By the way, McConnell also denied that there was a “kabal,” and as he pointed out to his local reporter, if there was a RINO cabal, he’d definitely be part of it.

Yesterday Cruz threw out a few final insults, sneering that Trump’s campaign “does not seem capable of running a lemonade stand.”

Hey Ted, don’t you even think about opening a lemonade stand in Binghamton or Buffalo, in Poughkeepsie or Plattsburgh, in the Bronx or Brooklyn, not unless you’re planning to sell hard lemonade. And it still wouldn’t go over, even if you named your chain New York Values Lemonade.

Even the Mittster is conceding that Trump will probably get his 1237.

Thanks , that’s good information. I think it’s wishful thinking, but it’s good information.

what like cruz lost the must won state of FL with over half million less votes , others on the ballot, and never won a county here.

it’s over and has been since FL so just give it up. cruz only stays in to deny the voters what they want and to put a weaker candidate against Clinton at the behest of the establishment.

Did you just find out that there are more democrats than republicans in New York?

They were closed primaries.

Not sure what point you are trying to make.

I wouldn't pay them much heed. They are pathetically pointless comments disgorged by gobsmacked Cruz disciples in an increasingly hopeless display of feigned machismo.

Cruz has lost it fair and square and should step aside for the sake of the country. If his continued efforts at thievery split and destroy the party
Cruz lost the primary vote and is now aiding and abetting the enemy (the GOPe)in their treasonous attempt to deny the nomination to the winner.

Cruz is a sore loser turned traitor against the grassroots voters. And the foolish neophyte thinks the GOPe is going to let him have a shot at the presidency if he helps them block Trump? Laughable if it wasn’t so serious.

This was a home state victory ... nothing more

It was a home state victory that Cruz could not match in Texas (43% for Cruz in TX and 60% for Trump in NY). And Trump got 48 delegates in TX compared to Cruz getting 0 in NY.

“Ted Cruz wins big in one of the most Conservative states (TX).” LOL

Let’s compare Ted Cruz’s home state vs Trump’s home state

Cruz TX 43.8%
Trump TX 26.7%

Cruz NY 14.5%
Trump NY 60.5%

Cruz NY delegates 0
Trump NY delegates 90+

Cruz TX delegates 104
Trump TX delegates 48

Who did better in their home states?

Let me add that Texas is a very RED state and NY is a very BLUE state.

Neither Cruz nor Kasich won their home states with a majority of the vote.

Trump did that last night in NY. I rest my case.

“...Hillary got double the votes...”

Only because there are more democrats in New York State. The Independents will go Trump.

No doubt the Cruz radio guys will be insuring Voters that New York is not ‘in play’ this year, though it is.

Whatever, they enunciate, I will not hear it because I don't listen to those frauds. Perhaps nothing but certainly none will claim that Cruz has a chance to ever win NY..

Cruz brings little to the EC vote. He and Kasich if teamed, could win Ohio, but Florida, Virginia, New Hampshire? Quite unlikely.

Cruz and Kasich should bail. They cannot win the nod the old fashioned way. Well, the perceived old fashioned way. They have lost, but now seek to win by disenfranchising those who declined to vote for them in primaries already secured. As if that is going to ever go over well on Main
Street.

I guess that water boarding is out, but other forms of torture are in.

Math is hard. You should go shopping.

There are 5,792,497 registered democrats and 2,731,688 registered republicans. That's slightly more than a 2:1 ratio.

Comparing raw numbers of votes on that basis just doesn't make sense.

You said, “Cruz and Kasich should bail. They cannot win the nod the old fashioned way.”

The old fashioned way is just regular voting. That’s all america expects is a fair election. Let the people choose a candidate to represent them. Win or lose, walk away knowing that the outcome was legitimate.

Notice how the caucus crap sandwich and voterless voting is not happening in minority-rich states. Those people would not take this lying down. They would have burnt their respective state capitols down last week. Lots of disenfranchisement of the voters happening in lily white states.

Reading comprehension is hard also. I was talking about those New York values and more than just Cruz having a problem there. You should work on that.

Cruz brings very little EC vote. His entire strategy was based on targeting those sparsely populated states because of the lack of universal voting methods. He anticipated that he would have a serious popularity problem and they pinpointed his potential wins. he sent his dad to N.D. last summer for this purpose.

With 3 million Independent voters registered in New York, Trump could win NY and bring those 27 EV into play. From a political standpoint it would be the coup d’etat! And his Presidency would feel legitimate to the many that always challenge a close election (2000). Trump has universal appeal and he will finish the race quite well.

Sore Cruzerman
