How bad was Cruzs night? Hes losing to Ben Carson in some places a guy who hasnt been in the race in weeks.
Cruz can still win the nomination on the first convention ballot, mind you, but he needs to win about 88.5 percent of the outstanding delegates, bound or unbound, per Daniel Nichanians excellent calculations. That's not likely to happen either.
Trump isnt the only big winner tonight! Congratulations to John Kasich, who will almost certainly end up with his first delegate in more than a month. Can Kasich pull off a come-from-behind victory? No. The end.

Cruz would watch it burn first! I don’t trust Cruz!
Are you kidding me? It was a blowout. And Republicans don’t have a chance in New York, no matter who they nominate.
My wife is the same way. She is a Kasich fan. I try to tell her about his stand on immigration, but she does not believe anything I get from the web. She thinks anything we get is unreliable and will only believe what is reported by our newspaper or the major networks. I tell her to watch my friend’s TV show “The Write-in” when it comes on.
I recall Cruz saying he want to win on the first ballot and against a contested convention. Now he’s in favor of a contested convention. Anyone got this clip?
Name the states that Romney lost that you think Trump will win and your reasons for thinking so.
Name a single swing state that Cruz won in the Primary. For bonus points, describe how he can lose the primary in a swing state, yet win it in the general election.
Bernie got what, twice the vote of Trump tonight?
27% of NY voters are unaffiliated and could not participate in the primary.
hopefully they don’t drag us down again like they did with Mourdock and Akin.
No polls out of Indiana. To the west Illinois went to trump, to the south Kentucky went to trump, to the north Michigan went to trump, and to the east ohio went to kasich and then trump. Surrounded by non Cruz states why do folks assume Indiana supports cruz, a guy who simply cannot win anymore?
As much as Trumpsters would love you to believe that this was a blowout by Conservatives, voting for a Conservative candidate, think again.
New York is full of liberals and the population was right at home voting for a liberal candidate.
but Cruz is ruining his political future. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Yes, Cruz has done some things from whichi he can never recover politically....it began with his campaign lie in Iowa that Ben Carson was leaving the race, in order to secure the Carson vote.Without that Cruz would have lost. And the piddling public apology afterwards was a gross insult to the People and to Carson.People began to leave Lyin’ Ted in droves after that.
Cruz will now lose his Senate seat and will have to be satisfied with State of Texas politics. Yes. Cruz has destroyed himself politically on the federal scene.
Look how well that worked out for him!!
Didn’t they have SS back then?
Maybe we should just let NY elect the president. How about the 67%+ nationwide who do not want the Donald as president.....
Eye bleach please after that
Well, that’s true, but in fairness, it is his only way at this point, and pretty much since the first Super Thesday. I’m sure he never saw the Trump train coming, same was Walker, Paul, Bush, etc., and figured pretty quick a contested convention would be his only chance. His decision at this point is whether to roll the dice and possibly jeopardize his political future, and his prior standing as the “true conservative/anti-establishment”, to become a tool of the establishment and then be cast aside when the establishment is done with him. In that case, he winds up with no allies, which of course, he may not care, but will need those allies to get any traction w/ Congress.
Not really. Lincoln was guarded by a Pinkerton operative.
If that second bullet never comes, Cruz has done no harm. If it comes, I want Cruz there to fire it, not Kasich.
“... would never get any Reagan Democrats crossing over, where Trump would”
Hillary got twice as many votes as Trump in his own state about a million to Trump’s five hundred thousand. Doesn’t look like there are enough crossover votes to make a difference. Trump will still lose NY to Clinton in November.
Or Carli Florina or Meg Whitman.
So, for that matter, will any Republican.
