A professional education consultant and teacher trainer argued at the White Privilege Conference (WPC) in Philadelphia that great teachers must also be liberal activists, and described in detail her goal for destroying the “white supremacist” nature of modern education.

In Hackman’s telling, virtually everything associated with being a good student in modern education is actually just a tool of racist white supremacy.
“The racial narrative of White tends to be like this: Rugged individual, honest, hard-working, disciplined, rigorous, successful,” she said. “And so then, the narrative of U.S. public education: Individual assessments, competition, outcome over process (I care more about your grades than how you’re doing), ‘discipline’ where we care more about your attendance and making sure you’re not tardy than we care about your relationships … proper English must be spoken (which is just assimilation into standard U.S. dialect), hierarchical power structure, and heavy goal orientation.”
While the traits listed may simply be regarded as positive traits for success in the modern world, Hackman described them as specific cultural traits chosen and emphasized to favor whites to the detriment of non-white groups, who are forced to assimilate white traits such as good discipline and goal orientation or else be left behind.

Sounds like my daughter told she heard some black kids chiding those blacks in the advanced high school classes with her: “Why out trying to be white like Sarah?” Obviously these teenagers had already been ingrained with the idea that to study and be successful was “white” and therefore “bad” while the goal should be unsuccessful and uneducated. From the Prince George’s Co., MD school system about a dozen years ago.

That is unfortunately how too many of our educators think - racism is racism, and the educators don’t even see the irony... Sad state of affairs.
Why not give all blakc youth a college diploma so they wont have to go thru the rigorous unjust white privileged curriculum that is racist. They get a job thru affirmative action anyway
In my class, I accommodate kids with special learning disabilities, allow work to be turned in up to the final exam, and forgive a student if English is not his/her first language. After that, if a student wants to skip out on the work, then they can take the grade that this implies. Oh, and an exam grade is part of the class. Show me that you can understand the subject matter and show me that the answer you got is based on work on your paper. Other than that I don’t care a whit about your ethnic background.
And while I am on this subject, yes, I won the lottery by being born in this country, having two parents who believed in me, and basically having a work ethic that never failed to do the classwork being demanded by my teachers. One of the lessons is that you are going to achieve what you are worth to others. Skip that lesson at your peril. This trainer is not preparing students for real life.
Is this why Hillary and her cronies can joke about "C.P." time?
Of course, this also means that the learning Bell Curve is also white privilege? Hard work, incentive, a great work ethic has nothing to do with success, only if you are white privilege? Our whole educational structure has to be re evaluated or revamped, those who teach in name only have to be replaced with those who encourage success. Students don’t study as they use to, now they’re too busy paying attention to their I phones and ignoring the teachers. I remember coming home from school, going out to play basket or hand ball, return for supper, ate, and spent 2 hours doing home work. If I was raised by an Asian “family”, I would have come home spent 2 hours doing home work, have supper and spend another 2 hours researching, and doing more more homework. There lies the difference, it isn’t a white thing, its the difference between a good student and a poor one, and we aren’t talking financial or social status.
If I were a minority, I’d be offended by her comments. She basically said that minorities are lazy, run late, aren’t goal oriented, etc.

And there is something wrong with encouraging these values??? Only in a liberal society that is dependent on the government to meet all its needs and where individualism is looked down upon in favor of “group think” are these values so maligned.
