Ted Cruz's and Marco Rubio's supporters have teamed up in Arkansas to pack the state delegation with individuals who'll turn against Donald Trump in a contested convention.
Since Rubio ended his presidential bid March 15, his network of party insiders has lined up behind Cruz to win delegates who'd vote for the Texas senator once they're no longer bound to Trump in a floor fight. Trump won Arkansas' GOP primary March 1 with 32.8 percent of the vote compared to Cruz's 30.5 percent and Rubio's 24.9 percent. But Cruz's canny operatives, with Rubio riding shotgun, is likely to thwart Trump in the delegate election.
Trump's organization is as sloppy in Arkansas as elsewhere, just as Cruz's is an efficient machine in state after state. This could ding the Donald, costing him as many as 25 delegates after a first inconclusive ballot. Cruz, who finished with 15 out of the available 40 delegates in primary voting, stands to gain all 16 Trump delegates and the 9 won by Rubio.

The rest is red herrings. Trump is clearly winning the public perception war with ammunition the other candidates give him. Stupid of them, normal for Trump
Colorado GOP Lied About #NeverTrump Tweet The Account Was Not Hacked

Then they would be bound, The NRC rules state that if a state has a caucus, primary, straw poll, or anything of that sort then delegates must be bound by the results.
Hence, why Colorado had no vote, North Dakota as far as I know did not either. If you are from there and did then I have my info wrong, and apologize.
If Cruz is the nominee, there’s going to be a whole lot of Trump supporters going through the five stages of grief.
1- All Delegates are bound to vote according to State Law.
2- There is no conspiracy. Trump people are not showing up.
Several FReepers including me have posted actual experience about the delegate process- past and present. It is so simple to become a delegate- 50% is showing up, 40% is having allies, 10% is your money to travel. The only thing that kept me from going to a national convention was cost- they are very costly.
I can tell you from personal experience, party does not control the delegates, the candidates do. In off years, movements like TEA party can wield control by overwhelming the wards. One time I was in an outside movement and we dumped a convention chair on the spot.
I can tell you one more FACT: A Trump supporter who has never been to a ward meeting or convention will reply how wrong I am. I guess my and other FReepers first hand accounts mean nothing to what they hear from Trump people and or read on hack websites.
Wow! And with that tagline. Amazing!
Now it is burn baby burn and if Cruz is nominated his loss will be touted as the reason/excuse to never run conservative anythings as the GOP nominee. They are knowingly going with their preferred loser. Cruz is the fall guy, but he is so mental he thinks they will help make him President.
The GOP is corrupt and Cruz has proved to be corrupt as all hell. F them both, primary all of them over and over and keep the names and info regarding all oh the GOPe delegates at the convention.
I'm sure a bunch of voters might show up with tar and feathers as well.
I hear Friday the Colorado GOP are going to get the start of a big permanent movement against them with a first protest at the GOP headquarters.
Yes, perfect. Thanks.
Trump could improve the ratings, he has a personality, Cruz has zero and is plastic lawyer man. No more lawyers.
Bogus, totally false, claim.
Votes were awarded in direct proportion to the votes cast with a bonus for the candidate with the majority.
That's a reflection of the vote and trying to spin that GOPe damage control lie is either an indication of the ignorance of those who spread it or a clear indication that the one spreading that trash is totally sold out to the GOPe.
Well yeah because trump brother it up. It’s called hypocrisy by trump.
So to defend that Trump won a caucus, you link to an article with the headline “Trump WOULD have won a caucus in North Dakota”. Would and did are two different things, the connote a difference in reality, would means that it did not happen but possibly had a chance of it. While did means that it actually happened.
Huh?
What % of delegates did trump get in Florida?
What % of the vote did he get in Florida?
If they don’t match it’s not democracy like trump wants.
Hint one is 100% the other less than 40%.
Trump has got a big fight on his hands!
First they spent tens of millions trying to boost their favorite presidential candidates, then they poured cash into ads attacking Donald Trump, and now some of the biggest donors on the right are turning their attention to the delegate fight.
Anti-Trump billionaires are funding ground operations in an increasing number of states to try to ensure the selection of national convention delegates who oppose Trump.
Delegates in Florida are allocated on a winner take all basis just like they are in many other States and in the case of Florida, Rubio and Cruz combined didn't equal the votes cast for Trump so what's your beef ? That Ted didn't get two delegates or some such crap ?
Trump won every county in Florida but one. If that doesn’t justify winner take all, nothing does.
What about the 60% of people who did NOT vote for Trump? Why don’t their votes count? Democracy is every vote counts. No difference between WTA and Colorado system when the winner gets less than 50%. It’s basically giving all the votes to one person.
