'We shouldn't judge people by ... who they love, what gender they identify with'
(Arne Sorenson, CEO of Marriott International)
For Arne Sorenson, CEO of Marriott International, it was an easy call when it came time to voice his opinion on North Carolinas HB2, the nations first state law limiting the bathroom options for transgender people.
The law also excludes lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people from anti-discrimination protections, and blocks municipalities from adopting their own anti-discrimination and living wage rules.
In first-person opinion piece on CNBC, Sorenson wrote: I was asked to join a group of American business leaders and CEOs in opposing North Carolinas HB2, a bill passed recently that sanctions LGBT discrimination across that state.
For Marriott and for me, this was an easy call. The law does not reflect our values or a basic principle that helps drive new jobs and economic growth in North Carolina and beyond: Everyone deserves to be welcome. We are disappointed with the unusual speed that was given to passing and signing this legislation into law, undoubtedly an attempt to minimize public outcry.
Undeterred, Im pleased to see that we are aligned with civil rights advocates, as well as most of the states top employers and job creators in calling for HB2 to be repealed. Weve also heard a chorus of objections from major sporting leagues and organizers of popular North Carolina events, like the upcoming High Point Market Week that celebrates the states outstanding furnishings and design industry. At Marriott, we are also hearing from concerned customers and local employees.

Corporate America is as anti Christian as the rest of the left.
Excellent point! An “anti-gay law” would involve rounding them up into concentration camps. Or throwing them off of buildings. Not declining their cake orders or letting them use any restroom they want.
While I, like you, find name-calling distasteful, it is what it is.
A lot of the most faithful Christians I know don’t give a rat’s posterior about other people’s bedrooms.
The problem is not in the bedroom, the problem is literally on parade. If it stayed in the bedroom, nobody would know about it, much less care.
Here’s another secret that should rock the world of the rank-and-file bumper-sticker homosexual activist (as opposed to the elite neo-Marxist Adornoian-Marcusians): same-sex marriage has not been illegal for at least 40 years now.
Homosexuals could marry each other and live together without any legal repercussions for decades.
But what about all the legal benefits of marriage, you ask? Well gee, where do THOSE come from? The government, that’s where.
If it wasn’t for government interference in the matter, there would be no activists, no hatred, no controversy, etc. Things would naturally proceed like free people think they should.
If the free people thought that homosexual marriage is just as valid as traditional age-old standard marriage, then it would just happen. No need to beg on bended knee or bowed head to some arrogant ruling class. If love is all there is to it, just go do and it.
But that’s not it, is it? It’s not really about love. It’s about the destruction of traditional Western civilization. And once these useful idiots are done, they will be eliminated just like Robespierre and the Jacobins were.

One single toilet without any designation would do the trick. As far as this law is concerned my fear is that Islam will use it to promote Sharia. It’s a perfect setup.
If you really cared about your homosexual friends you’d get them mental help.
Endorsing their illness only condemns them to live a dysfunctional and unhealthy life.
No it's not. It's pro-freedom.
John Stossel made a good point the other day when he asked, "Should a Jewish baker be forced to bake a cake for a Nazi wedding"?
I think better question is, "Should a black baker be forced to bake a cake for a KKK event"? It's a better question because it moves the situation out of the religious realm but hints at the double standard employed by the left.
It’s all about the Benjamins.
With the US population approaching 320 million that’s alot of non Evangelical Christians to get rid of and or imprison. Forcing the the love of Jesus Christ on someone is not the way to go.
Sure. Then guests would know this is a pervert catering chain.
I already know it from the comments of this LGBT Agenda sycophant.
He’s ‘sucking up’ to them.
It’s a mess of monstrous proportions. A situation endorsed by the majority of the establishment types that are nothing less than a gaggle of pansies who rule and ruin our lives and our nation.
They can literally all go to hell.
Arne hates America and the Judeo-Christian ethic.
On the other hand, anti-straight laws are really dangerous.
The people running these corporations are buffoons. I've been at the top. You DO NOT include politics or religion into your product. His answer? "I run a hotel chain, hotels are what we do best. I'll leave politics to the politicians." What alienate your consumer base? It IS NOT NECESSARY for a corporation to have a stance on transgender. It's STUPID!
They have no problem operating in Saudi Arabia. I read they are opening a new hotel there next year.
I can’t speak for greene66, and I agree, we shouldn’t use the word “faggot”.....but he didn’t say someone who practices sodomy is necessarily someone who also practices child-molestation.
HOWEVER, sociologically speaking, there DEFINITELY is a link—in that 30%+ of sexual molestation claims are homosexual in nature—and that from 2% of the population who are homosexual. When you have that small of a percentage of society connected to 30% of a particular crime—than we know for sure a significantly higher portion of that 2% are indeed child molesters. Math sometimes stinks, since facts are facts.
Of course that doesn’t mean all homosexuals are molesters...it only means a significantly higher percentage than the general population are.
As for the false assumption that persons pursuing a homosexual lifestyle are just normal folk with a different sexual preference—again, facts just prove one wrong. Among both male and female homosexuals rates of physical and sexual abuse are significantly higher than that of the general population—as are rates of alcohol and drug abuse, as well as depression and suicide. This holds true in the most “gay affirming” places too (like the US North West, or Scandanavia), so one cannot blame the rest of us for not affirming them enough.
Gay men will often have dozens—often hundreds—of partners in their lifetime— and die, on average, in their 40s. Even gay men in “marriages” will often have (quietly, of course, hidden from their straight friends) open marriages, and do group sex or other forms of extreme high-risk sexual activities. There are really solid reasons why HIV still rages amidst gay men—and it has to do with their extreme promiscuity.
I’m not arguing that any of this justifies cruel treatment of homosexuals, or name calling—however the saccharine prime-time TV picture of gays as nice happy men who act a little effeminate...just isn’t accurate, as homosexual behavior is, and always has been, sick and wrong—and when it doesn’t satisfy, leads people into greater forms of perversion.

The law is not anti Gay. If it’s a private business that receives no federal tax dollars then that business can do as it pleases. From what I understand the law also applies to any other religious groups. A Muslim working at a sandwich shop can use the law to refuse to sell a ham sandwich to you. Hindus can refuse to sell any meat and so on.
The law can not violate the the first amendment. The First Amendment guarantees freedoms concerning religion, expression, assembly, and the right to petition. It forbids Congress from both promoting one religion over others and also restricting an individuals religious practices. It guarantees freedom of expression by prohibiting Congress from restricting the press or the rights of individuals to speak freely. It also guarantees the right of citizens to assemble peaceably and to petition their government.

You must be living in another universe for none of this is true anymore.
We have lost so much!
“I have a theory that liberalism, leftist thought, whatever you want to call it, actually causes brain damage.”
I think it somehow messes up their perceptions of realities. They are taught disbelief of what they inherently, instinctively know. It is basic brainwashing.
As I’ve posted so often: search on “The Frankfurt School” for some insight on where it came from.
Our corporate offices apparently are full of idiots.
Letting men in little girl restrooms is not an issue of equality.
It’s an act of stupidity.
