Of his many outrageous campaign statements, perhaps Donald J. Trump's most important ones concern his hoped-for role as president of the United States.
When told that uniformed personnel would disobey his unlawful order as president to torture prisoners and kill civilians, Trump menacingly replied "They won't refuse. They're not going to refuse, believe me."
Responding to criticism by the speaker of the House, Trump spoke like a Mafia don: "Paul Ryan, I don't know him well, but I'm sure I'm going to get along great with him. And if I don't? He's gonna have to pay a big price." ...
Concerning the media, which he despises, Trump said, "I'm going to open up our libel laws so when they write purposely negative and horrible and false articles, we can sue them and win lots of money." ...

Sometimes people just need to be told to just shut up. :-)
Pipe down, Daniels. Trump is no fascist, he is an out and proud Nationalist.
Anyone who puts America first now, and isn’t on board the open border NWO North American Union express is a “fascist”.
Daniel Pipes: There’s a name for Trump’s brand of politics: neo-fascism

Actually Obama is a ne-fascist. Trump is a nationalist.
“Paul Ryan, I don’t know him well, but I’m sure I’m going to get along great with him. And if I don’t? He’s gonna have to pay a big price.” ...
Lol.
Trump 2016!
nah...
Meanwhile, Hillary has been selling national secrets for years, and Bernie is an avowed communist.
Given the options, I’ll go for the guy who just sounds like a tough leader with a flawed sense of propriety.
Once again, another person needing psychological counseling after too much time on the fantasy land of the Unicorn Farm.
It’s statements like these that give us a glimpse into the man.
To me, they indicate a character unsuited for political leadership.
“When told that uniformed personnel would disobey his unlawful order as president to torture prisoners and kill civilians, “
A steaming pantload. If it is in the US Army approved manual, it is legal to do. Add waterboard by order and its instantly legal.
And killing civilians is illegal? The B-24 crews and B-29 crews and Patton’s Army would be very surprised to know this. The B-52s who carpet bombed Hanoi on Christmas would be shocked.
Idiot.
People who can’t distinguish between nationalism and fascism are part of the problem, not the solution.
The actual definition of fascism is “the merger of state and corporate power”.
This country is already fascist and has been at least since the moment Clinton signed Glass-Steagall.
Fascist institutions dominate the US in the here and now: the Federal Reserve and the rest of the fractional reserve banking system, Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac, Obamacare, the entire pay-to-play lobbying industry, the auto insurance industry, Ex-Im Bank, etc. etc. etc.
They’re everywhere and they already rule the joint and have for a long time.
.. and there's a name for Rove-level cuckery, Danny.
Exactly.
Trump is hated because he puts America 1st.
This is about the money and power. World domination and the destruction of the United States of America.
Autocratic nationalism with a socialist or more accurately crony capitalism is fascism. It’s the autocratic part that defines it and Trump certainly promises to do things his way, period.
Hey Daniel, what is the name for Obamas style of politics?
“Legal” and “morally acceptable” are not the same thing.
Tell me the morality of refusing to pour water on a terrorists face?
Tell me the morality of having such concern for civilian lives that we drop like 5 bombs a day on ISIS? And that our pussified effort in the middle east has dragged on for 15 years.
That says more about you than Trump.
But hey, thanks for sharing!
At the end of the day.
Pipes often writes very intelligent helpful articles. This isn’t one of them. Daniel, it’s not particularly useful to criticize Mr Trump on this score when several candidates are campaigning the same way (or worse like Hillary the corrupt commie and Bernie the more honest commie, and additional candidates we’ve seen recently). Trite catchy meaningless jingos, tons of false or impossible promises, some clear racist pandering, and mega-tons of ad hominem against other candidates). Etc.—— mr Pipes, write an article about the “neo-fascism” of most of the 2016 candidates — because the problem is much much much wider than just one guy. The problem is in our country today —in our body politic as promoted and whipped up by the mass media -—— we need to clean up our politics not just vote against just one Candidate who appears to have tripped your wire
