Ted Cruz Tries, Fails to Explain ‘New York Values’ to Actual New Yorkers
NY Mag ^ | 7 Apr 16 | Claire Landsbaum

Cruz's reception in New York was chilly.

Back in January, Ted Cruz made the mistake of assuming the rest of America still hates New York. His dismissal of "New York values" didn't endear him to the Empire State — Governor Cuomo demanded an apology from Cruz, and the New York Daily News did what the New York Daily News does best — and as expected, the comment came back to haunt him as he campaigned in the Bronx on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, at a massive rally in Long Island, Donald Trump, who's polling ahead of Cruz in New York by a wide margin, used the senator's remarks against him. "Do you remember during the debate when he started lecturing me on New York values like we're no good?" Trump asked the crowd. "Folks, I think you can forget about him."

Of course we shouldn’t be talking about punishing women;

It was repeated in the very quote you provided. It is elsewhere, and EVERY candidate, in fact the entire party and apparently all 'pro-life' organizations, are on board with no consequence abortion.

No consequence abortion = no punishment for arranging the killing of one's children.

Apparently, our task now is to decide which pro-abortion candidate has the best financial and security plans for the USA

No.....his ‘associations’, socially and politically have always been among the ‘liberal’ elite...and we aren’t just finding out about his politics....he’s been supporting and funding liberal politicians heavily for years and does everything to fill his own coffers, from his foundations to the Vets fundraiser....it’s all to keep his own cash flow flush.

Heck he didn’t even contribute to his own foundation....and that foundation issued 500,000 to support his own sons school. It will always flow to Trump and his family....now he wants the seat of power to orchestrate the same to all his International investments......well, no thank you! I’m not about to give this crook a free hand this country’s purse...not for a second!

The only thing he’s taken on in Washington is what he “says”......he’s done nothing at all all these years to put feet to his mouth in fighting anything for Conservative values...rather...just the opposite, he’s fought heavily against them up and until two months before he announced...and he has the record to prove that!

If Ted Cruz wasn’t running I STILL would not support Trump...not a chance. I don’t vote for liberals....and I especially don’t vote for liberal rats...which he is.

Further my candidate choices never depend on the media , I do my own research BEFORE the candidates run their race. What they say during the race matters not to me....your guy is a fraud.= and he knows it.

Or, folks could try supporting someone who has consistently advocated for what they say they believe for many years.

I think our task is simply to pray that a man after God's heart is our candidate.

Our founders never envisioned this kind of presidential election where candidates lowered themselves to prostitute themselves and pander to the prurient interests of people whose only concern is getting something from the Government at the expense of the taxpayers and their posterity.

Originally people would vote for people they knew who reflected their economic, moral and spiritual values and send them to the electoral college to find a person most worthy of the office of president.

Now we have direct elections of people who pander prostitute themselves and surrender their principles in order to ensure that they have bought just enough votes to get them into an office for which they have no moral business holding.

This is the most depressing election I have ever witnessed. The bad blood between the leftover candidates is simply disgusting. Originally we were all on board with Trump/Cruz or Cruz/Trump but at this point I don't want either names at the top of the ticket. We may get one or the other, but at this point I think they are both losers.

TX just thinks it’s “conservatives” because Republcians hold all but one of the thirty or so statewide constitutional offices. The exception is a seat on the state Supreme Court held by a Republican-turned-Democrat. The House Speaker is one known to pander to the Democrat minority to keep him in the seat with little opposition.

"If Texas is so conservative, why is Texas crawling with illegals and why does Texas have over a dozen sanctuary cities, many of which include MAJOR cities?

Texas is structurally and socially conservative.

Texas has a 1,200 mile border with Mexico. Were it were not for the conservatives in Texas, spending literally billions of hard earned state tax dollars (from our budget surplus) and using scarce state-based security resources protecting the border, the USA would be in a LOT worse shape in regards to illegal aliens.

You got ripped off slick.

Dallas Texas 2006, during war time, under Republican George Bush.

500,000 illegal aliens march on Dallas Texas pushing foreign flags in our faces and while making demands and threats. All while Texas Republican George Bush celebrated Cinco De Mayo up in the White House...During war time.

I’m trying to garner the nominations of at least four parties this year, including the Constitution Party.

Constitution Party
The American Independent Party
The American Party
America’s Party

Some of these folks running around here playing the big "Con-servative" role are just over the top.

For those paying attention, the term "Conservative" has clearly become the new establishment buzz word in attempts to discredit Trump.

As if the establishment's career lawyers/politicians candidates have been "conservative" for the past 25+ years.

No one capable of critical thought buys that.

I have read the CP’s statements on life, and I see no place where they specifically address no-consequence abortion, i.e., the non-culpability of a woman who arranges the killing of her unborn child.

Can you find it?

Keep thinking that.

Trump is our only chance to defeat the establishment.

In reality, Now the Big Steal is on coming from the GOP establishment and Ted Cruz and now you are a part of that.

Think about that and how stealing fits in to your Christian principles as well as conservative principles.

I can tell you, IT DOESN’T so quit fooling yourself.

....”Trump is our only chance to defeat ‘the establishment’”.....

I’m not an anti-establishment voter, that is not the motive for who I’m supporting....this is an election for our Primary Nominee and that’s why I’m voting.

Our “Primary Election” is a ‘layered system’ of contests that selects LOCAL delegates, who in turn select STATE delegates, who then vote for NATIONAL delegates...So far, the process is working as it should.....

Nobody is ‘stealing’ anything, how do you “steal” something that’s not their’s.....for Trump it’s first ballot or bust. ... Wisconsin was his last chance at dodging the bust.

I’m not an anti-establishment voter,

That's all I need to know about you. Then you are part of the problem with what is wrong with this country. The Uniparty establishment along with the Globalists have plundered this country and will continue to do so with attitudes like that.

Donald Trump, other Freepers here, and I are Patriots for trying to stop them before our freedoms and liberties are no more and the country as we know it is no more. I can't believe you even have the gall to call yourself a conservative.

Where have you been? Our Government has long been a Cash cow for Politicians and those they associate with to wring the taxpayers of this country......money-laudering says it well. Most have increased there wealth in every way with the “deals” they make among themselves. Which is why Trump is going for the gold.

But unless you have ‘another system’ to replace it you’re doing nothing more than assisting in destroying the country, for without a system of Government the country goes down completely.

We can dislike and distrust establishment Republicans, and vote them out. That’s the system. We can and do oppose them with those who have kept their promises to do so....but you should not destroy the entire system of governance which is how I see the Trump anti-establishment movement today. Out to destroy our government and this country.

I support Cruz because he knows how to work within the system to get the job done of changing this government and restoring it to how it’s suppose to function. All your guy will do is create chaos and destruction.....there’s no room for more than what we have seen in the man....he destroys who ever and whatever opposes him....no thanks....further he hasn’t a clue how to work within the system as his campaign clearly has shown....rules be damned....but we are a nation of laws and rules and need a President who abides by these and knows the paths to change them....not an ape thumping his chest.

You are no conservative if that is what you support.

You also are blind to the realities of the situation and how close our Constitution is to being wiped out. Our government, according to our Constitution, is supposed to be limited and the 100 year statist progressive movement in this country is what has been used to plunder this country, slowly and methodically.

The trillions and trillions of debt coming from a monstrous out-of-control government should tell you that this statist movement is a disaster but here you support that.

What this election comes down to is the failed statist government, that you support, vs our Constitutional Republic and the freedoms it represents. Trump and his supporters are on the patriotic side of freedom and liberty.

But continue to live in your bubble.
