Cruz's reception in New York was chilly.
Back in January, Ted Cruz made the mistake of assuming the rest of America still hates New York. His dismissal of "New York values" didn't endear him to the Empire State Governor Cuomo demanded an apology from Cruz, and the New York Daily News did what the New York Daily News does best and as expected, the comment came back to haunt him as he campaigned in the Bronx on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, at a massive rally in Long Island, Donald Trump, who's polling ahead of Cruz in New York by a wide margin, used the senator's remarks against him. "Do you remember during the debate when he started lecturing me on New York values like we're no good?" Trump asked the crowd. "Folks, I think you can forget about him."

My comments were about leadership. Cruz doesn’t have it. If he did, his list of Senate accomplishments would consist of more than, ‘Tried but failed.’
Were he a leader, voters would be flocking to him. He wouldn’t need to resort to voter shaming, passing along false info, lying ads, or other Jeff Roe specialties. He would simply emerge from the pack as the leader.
This happens to be true. Leadership is a quality people recognize and gravitate toward. It stands out. It’s compelling. It makes history.
Tell me honestly, what true leader can you cite who, out of a body of ninety-nine colleagues, couldn’t even get *one* to second his motion? Not even ONE.
I realize that many Cruz supporters believe something magical will happen if Ted makes it to the general. Someone will sprinkle pixie dust, and Cruz will transform into the kind of leader voters line up to support. That’s called Magical Thinking. It never ends well for those who resort to it.
And you might consider being mindful to the fact people do not always “flock to leaders” as stated. Especially in an election, unless they're easily manipulated by emotionalism and ‘formulating’ just what your target audience wants to hear.....your guy is a master at this with 40 years experience obtaining and retaining his TV audiences. Cult leaders and dictators often use the same tactics because it works to “move the masses”.
I do not join up when I see those tactics being played, in fact because I know them I can identify them and how they're being used. Trump showed this the very day he announced via his exiting an elevator and descending on a escalator in his Trump Towers Lobby. (Which was pretty tacky btw), but it also showed Trump intended to "control" his environment...a must for a Narcissist. And also using his family members as his campaign team kept it under his control. I don't look for anything magical to happen in this election, but no doubt there will be some surprises along the way, and as much those announced as surprises will fail as Trumps did in Wisc. It's the nature of the game...Checkmate and all.
I’ve never defended anything liberal...just pointing out hypocrisy. I’m sure cRuz will be calling out CA’s lib values, too, ASAP.
Summary of your post:
Cruz is a leader because...Trump!
I have friends in Carmel Ca. who have watched a grand exodus out of California among the business people they’re affiliated with throughout the state. They are both professionals and say it’s pretty bad, though in Carmel not so much....they meet up with other Republican/Conservatives but they are fewer than years past.
“Ive never defended anything liberal...just pointing out hypocrisy. Im sure cRuz will be calling out CAs lib values, too, ASAP.”
What hypocrisy? I just pointed out I welcome the criticism of my state, and I don’t take offense, because I condemn my own state’s values.
What is wrong with his comment about New York values, and why are you offended? If it doesn’t apply to you, why do you care?

Businesses will be leaving in droves once now that we are “progressing” from the current minimum wage of an already high $10.50 per hour, increasing every year for the next six years until it reaches a ridiculous $15 per hour in 2022.
If ya think Lying Ted is going to win NY, Id like to place a bet with you.
Let me know.
NY needs to those Midwestern values like Ferguson Missouri, and Texas, where they have about a dozen sanctuary cities, which includes *major* Texan cities.
You betcha!
You’re the one with so much concern.
Take a nap.
I was offended as a Californian when he said it: clearly he wouldn’t think kindly of us either. It’s the lumping of everyone together in a location that offends me.
Did I say that? Of course not...
No bet against Lying Ted getting KO’d by Trump in NY?
Smart move.
I’m not the one squawking about “New York values”.
“What is wrong with his comment about New York values, and why are you offended? If it doesnt apply to you, why do you care?”
New Yorkers are like Texans in this regard. “Don’t mess with Texas”, as I understand it, crosses party lines.
“NY values”? Fuhgeddaboutdit!
Well, it’s true, since Cruz has very little chance at the nomination outright, all you are doing is helping him and most importantly, the GOP establishment. And if you and the GOPe succeeds, they will get who THEY WANT and it’s back to the good ole days of the Uniparty /s.
Congrats!
CGato
Master GOP debater we have here.
Don’t worry about that. Ted will take care of business.
Cruz really can't at this point because he's now owned by the GOP establishment but keep on fighting for them and the Uniparty. I sometimes wonder if you are member of the Uniparty.

Funny stuff. You should go to a comedy club.
Don’t let your heart be troubled.
