Ted Cruz Tries, Fails to Explain ‘New York Values’ to Actual New Yorkers

Cruz's reception in New York was chilly.

Back in January, Ted Cruz made the mistake of assuming the rest of America still hates New York. His dismissal of "New York values" didn't endear him to the Empire State — Governor Cuomo demanded an apology from Cruz, and the New York Daily News did what the New York Daily News does best — and as expected, the comment came back to haunt him as he campaigned in the Bronx on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, at a massive rally in Long Island, Donald Trump, who's polling ahead of Cruz in New York by a wide margin, used the senator's remarks against him. "Do you remember during the debate when he started lecturing me on New York values like we're no good?" Trump asked the crowd. "Folks, I think you can forget about him."

What did Cruz accomplish when he called out McConnell? What did he accomplish with his filibuster?

I’ve spoken to not-so-politically-minded people about Cruz, and they all remember him as that guy who read “Green Eggs and Ham” on the Senate floor—and they weren’t impressed. But he got on the news, so there’s that, I guess.

Cruz calling out McConnell like he did was beyond foolish for a junior Senator. He managed to completely isolate himself. Not even his friends like Rand Paul could come to his side without risking their own retribution.

You can complain about the GOPe, but what’s the point? The frog and the scorpion. They are who they are; it’s in their nature. I’m sure it felt good to call out McConnell liked that, even a part of me was glad he did it, but the fact is McConnell is the Senate Majority Leader and holds great power in the Senate as a result. He’s still the Senate Majority Leader, and he has several years to go on his current term so his seat likely won’t change hands. The only result was Cruz is a nobody in the Senate now. That’s not smart to put yourself in that position if you’re looking to actually implement some kind of change.

And I didn’t vote for McConnell is any election, so it sure as hell isn’t my fault either.

I'm a NYer, having lived in the city and now upstate. I worked for the Republican Party in the 1990’s. Guess what? The “establishment” are pretty much all going for Trump. What does that say? He is an “outsider”? We conservatives all know what NY values are: the safe act, Cuomos rule by fiat, a culture of death. Whacked social values. Cruz is right and we conservatives have to live in this state. He should go on the attack right now against the gun grabbing, liberal slime that run NY and have no values to speak of. NY usually always votes in the primary for the establishment republican, interesting how Trump is winning by such a large margin.

Kyle Kohli confirmed on Wednesday that Trump will not attend the Colorado Republican Convention in Colorado Springs. Further Authorities told Denver7 political reporter Marshall Zelinger that the Republican front-runner won't be in Colorado for ANY events ....

Cruz will speak at the Colorado Springs event on Saturday. and already has six of Colorado's delegates They were decided at conventions last weekend. Nineteen are needed to claim Colorado.
