Ted Cruz Tries, Fails to Explain ‘New York Values’ to Actual New Yorkers
NY Mag ^ | 7 Apr 16 | Claire Landsbaum

Cruz's reception in New York was chilly.

Back in January, Ted Cruz made the mistake of assuming the rest of America still hates New York. His dismissal of "New York values" didn't endear him to the Empire State — Governor Cuomo demanded an apology from Cruz, and the New York Daily News did what the New York Daily News does best — and as expected, the comment came back to haunt him as he campaigned in the Bronx on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, at a massive rally in Long Island, Donald Trump, who's polling ahead of Cruz in New York by a wide margin, used the senator's remarks against him. "Do you remember during the debate when he started lecturing me on New York values like we're no good?" Trump asked the crowd. "Folks, I think you can forget about him."

He is so out of his element.
He looks weak, elitist, and scared.
This is very Dukakis of him.

TRUMP: Well, look. I’m very pro-choice.

RUSSERT: Or ban partial-birth abortion.

TRUMP: No

If we are identifying a candidate who thinks strategically, certainly our selection would be Ted Cruz and not Donald Trump. Donald Trump has betrayed a myopia in his campaign which has cost him dearly on the ground in delegates which have been scooped up by the strategically thinking Ted Cruz.

Throughout, Cruz has run a strategically planned campaign and stuck to the plan. He never enjoyed the name recognition and the charisma with which television anointed Donald Trump and which permitted Donald Trump to run an ad hoc campaign far removed from strategic thinking.

Utterly ridiculous statement.

You may want to check out National Right to Life for their ratings on candidates.

“Cruz should demonstrate the reality that he can stand up against Trump who despite his New York City bravado is afraid to debate Cruz and this issue will give Cruz a bullhorn with which to do it. Let Trump defend the city of New York and get identified in the national mind with New York City. Let Cruz be identified in the popular mind as the man who exposes both Trump in New York City for what they are: the corrupt, crony, tyrannical city state which is coming to a bureaucracy near you if the likes of Donald Trump prevail.”

Amen.

Have you even read the National Right to Life’s position on that?

His position is exactly the same as the official Right to Life Position.

You’re ignorance is absolutely amazing.

He supports no consequence abortion. I heard him with my own ears. That’s not ignorance. That’s reporting what the man said.

You are such a liar. You bastardize what he says for your own purposes what he said, just like Deceptive Donnie. You’re acting like Satan, and it’s not funny.

Here is what he said about punishing the mother, which is completely consistent with the Pro Life movement (for which you have no clue.

“On the important issue of the sanctity of life, what’s far too often neglected is that being pro-life is not simply about the unborn child; it’s also about the mother — and creating a culture that respects her and embraces life.

“Of course we shouldn’t be talking about punishing women; we should affirm their dignity and the incredible gift they have to bring life into the world,” he added.

Here is what he said about exceptions for abortion (none):

And when it comes to rape, rape is a horrific crime against the humanity of a person and needs to be punished and punished severely but at the same time, as horrible as that crime is, I don’t believe it’s the child’s fault. And we weep at the crime. We want to do everything we can to prevent the crime on the front end and to punish the criminal, but I don’t believe it makes sense to blame the child.”

I’m done with this discussion.

Of course you’re done. You have no defense of Cruz holding the murderer of her own baby blameless.

You should of quit long ago while you didn’t look so bad.

“Cruz said last week that he supports no consequence abortion.”

Actually, NO! However, as a pro-choicer, Trump supports no consequence partial-birth abortion.

I don’t know why he is so against Cruz and supports an avowed pro-choice, pro-partial-birth Trump ...

It was Donald Trump - not Ted Cruz - who defined New York values.

You conveniently side-stepped the question, but that’s alright. I’m used to Cruzers doing that.
