Cruz's reception in New York was chilly.
Back in January, Ted Cruz made the mistake of assuming the rest of America still hates New York. His dismissal of "New York values" didn't endear him to the Empire State Governor Cuomo demanded an apology from Cruz, and the New York Daily News did what the New York Daily News does best and as expected, the comment came back to haunt him as he campaigned in the Bronx on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, at a massive rally in Long Island, Donald Trump, who's polling ahead of Cruz in New York by a wide margin, used the senator's remarks against him. "Do you remember during the debate when he started lecturing me on New York values like we're no good?" Trump asked the crowd. "Folks, I think you can forget about him."

You may want to do your research, because your statement is defamatory.
Cruz tried but the people would not listen and I give him a huge A+ for going there.
He could have gone to a much friendlier place.
Source for your numbers?
Yeah Trump might get them at first but he will lose them when he takes his eye off the ball like some of the other States.
It is hell to be rich and lazy then expect others to do the work for you.
Whats more, Cruz rolled out his immigration reform plan at the Sunshine Summit in Rubios backyard in Florida. Cruzs plan calls for a 180-day moratorium on H1-B visa issuance, a halt to any hike in legal immigration, stoppage of refugees flooding into the U.S. from the Middle East, and more that Rubio is diametrically opposed to
Frankly, that strategy is more clever than anything Ted has tried the past two days in NY.
Even Ted is smart enough after 48 hours of abuse, to treat NY as a foregone 50+ WTA for Trump and instead attempt a Pennsylvania upset.
Santorum did ok in the northern half of the Keystone; although SweaterVest -- a bit surprisingly, I thought at the time -- got shellacked by Bishop Dullard in Allegheny County (Pittsburgh).
No it isn’t. Every candidate supports abortion. I heard them say it just last week.
The issue in New York is not whether Cruz can win but whether Trump can be kept under 50% because that has great influence on the delegate count. Meanwhile there are forty-nine other states in which a significant portion of the population abhors New York values and Ted Cruz can gain a lot of support by articulating that point of view.
Republicans in California, for example, share a distrust of New York City values and might very well vote for Cruz who opposes them and against Trump who embodies them.
Cruz can get a lot of headlines and name recognition throughout the country and much approbation if the doubles down. Upstate New Yorkers are not universally enamored of New York City and Cruz' remarks are directed toward the city not toward the whole state. Cruz might be able peel off enough votes upstate to deprive Trump of his 50%. Remember, this is a Republican primary not a general election-which Trump would lose in New York anyway.
Cruz should demonstrate the reality that he can stand up against Trump who despite his New York City bravado is afraid to debate Cruz and this issue will give Cruz a bullhorn with which to do it. Let Trump defend the city of New York and get identified in the national mind with New York City. Let Cruz be identified in the popular mind as the man who exposes both Trump in New York City for what they are: the corrupt, crony, tyrannical city state which is coming to a bureaucracy near you if the likes of Donald Trump prevail.
A woman who murders her own baby must not be punished.
I'm not a Cruz fan for the very reason you lay out here: he's not a strategic thinker. Your analysis is absolutely right, but he's being tactically engaged and he responds tactically.
Wasted time in New York. He should be stumping IN PA or something. He’s in 3rd place in NY. Bad use of time.
Yep. You understand. Others don’t seem to easily see it.
Silly. He’s been getting voters out. That’s what counts.
I live in reality and like I said earlier, many of you have just gotten so delusional. I was once a Cruz supporter, but I’m not a fanatic of either one like many of you delusional Cruz fanatics have become.
I stand by my realville statement, after New York it will be virtually impossible for Cruz to get enough of the remaining delegates to win the nomination outright. It will have to come through deception and sleazy practices for him to even have a chance.
There is no way you can call any of that principled conservatism.
Well put!!

All new. A few short months ago he was H1Bs best friend. But he’ll get a pass for recent comments by people who want to hold trump to comments from 1999, 12 years before his conversion.
RUSSERT: But you would not ban it.
TRUMP: No.
RUSSERT: Or ban partial-birth abortion.
TRUMP: No.
TRUMP: Well, look. Im very pro-choice.
RUSSERT: Or ban partial-birth abortion.
TRUMP: No

Cruz.....women. can. Murder. Their. Babies. And. There. SHOULD. be NO. Punishment.
The Republicans are useful idiots in CA. They're all but non-existent. No one even knows who these people are or where they hell they've been. Most have a belly full of those do nothing bureaucrats.
From my perspective CA will KO Cruz.
Look how much time Trump spent in Wisconsin and the good it did him there and Pennsylvania is a lot closer
