Cruz's reception in New York was chilly.
Back in January, Ted Cruz made the mistake of assuming the rest of America still hates New York. His dismissal of "New York values" didn't endear him to the Empire State — Governor Cuomo demanded an apology from Cruz, and the New York Daily News did what the New York Daily News does best — and as expected, the comment came back to haunt him as he campaigned in the Bronx on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, at a massive rally in Long Island, Donald Trump, who's polling ahead of Cruz in New York by a wide margin, used the senator's remarks against him. "Do you remember during the debate when he started lecturing me on New York values like we're no good?" Trump asked the crowd. "Folks, I think you can forget about him."

Awe what’s the matter? You think your the only person on earth that has the ‘Cruz Values?’ I could drop the names of the D.C. Madams phone records, but I won’t I would rather you find out later, is your number on there?
It is not “where” they are that is the issue. It is “what” they are. I believe it is time for Trump himself to elaborate on what New York values actually are. And not by hiding behind 9/11. That was a cheap shot at the debate, in my opinion, and he had to fall back on it because he had nothing of substance to say about it. Or he didn’t want to tell the truth.
CLOSED primary. No Indie or Dem can vote for any Repub candidate. In order to change party, you have to do so more than six moths BEFORE the primary.
Lots of Bernie students are pissed - they missed the deadline to select the specific party. Some were reg in the Liberal party, Green Party, Indie, No Party selected - so they can’t vote. Some waited too long to even register (first timers) - lots of wailing going on now in NY.
NY Indies are people who don’t like any structured party and usually make up their mind at the last minute. They can vote in some local primaries - but never in a presidential.
