Video @ above link. Ted Cruz is campaigning in Scotia, near Albany, before the New York presidential primary elections April 19.

I am wrong about the one I found that works - that appears to be a replay of his WI speech. I can’t find one that will play. Oh well.
Fun gift basket given to Cruz.
“students, glad to get your out of class this morning - if Heidi is elected first lady meat is coming back to the classroom. Call me crazy but I believe cardboard belongs under the tray but not on the tray”. Lol.
But he will be mathematically eliminated ... then what exactly are the stakes ...
He should just run on an honest platform at that point ...
"My message and platform is not resonating with the voters, I will loose to Trump ... so now my goal is to prevent Trump from getting enough votes to get to 1237, and hope my backdoor efforts pay off. This is how a second place finisher uses the political system (God bless our system) to achieve the goal of thwarting the will of the people. Thanks for your wasted vote y'all ... and remember ... a vote for me is a vote for not Trump ... because I hate Trump more than I love America."
He should be campaigning in California. He is wasting his time in NY.
Surely you must know better than that. If Trump doesn't get the requisite delegates, then he is just as mathematically eliminated on the first ballot as Cruz is. And that is why it is worth spending time and money in NY to keep Trump under 50%. If that happens, there is almost no chance Trump can get the delegates he needs to win the nomination - and believe me, Trump WILL lose on the 2nd or 3rd ballot. You run a sleaze campaign full of insults, lies, bullying, etc, and Trump will reap what he has sewn at the convention.
The question is, why do some assume that all of D. Trump's delegates will desert him after first unsuccessful ballot, but 75-150 won't desert R.Cruz on second ballot to give it to Trump?
Especially if D. Trump gets 30-50% more delegates (support) going in?
Being shunned in the Bronx may play well upstate for Cruz.
We know what NYC values are. LOL. So do the conservatives in NY.
FL is overrun with retirees. (No offense meant, I call them Yankees but I was born here).
Cruz will get delegates and keep DT under 50%. He is getting excellent response. BTW - he has not lead a cheer against his opponent or trashed anyone! Impressive.
therightscoop
Looks like he’s speaking to a couple dozen 16 year-olds in a school gym.
No, it won’t. Cruz is completely flat in upstate.
the Kasich and Rubio delegates will be in play
New York City values which are pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage, anti 2nd amendment, anti Big Gulps- well documented NYC values.
Who do you think Rubio’s delegates will go to on the second ballot? He still has more delegates than Kasich and Kasich’s delegates aren’t going to Trump. Plus the much talked about Cruz campaign selection of delegates - who will vote for him on second ballot. It is very simple math.
Mostly because Trump is disliked by many more of the delegates that will be forced to vote for him on the 1st ballot than any other candidate.
Trump has basically run a sleaze operation that has relied on bullying, insults, belittling other candidates, and has pretty much alienated everyone but that 35% or so that keep turning out for him in primaries. Also, the general election poll numbers matter here. Trump gets crushed by Hillary and Sanders in nearly every poll. Cruz at least shows he can be competitive against them in most polls.
In short, the delegates mostly hate Trump. So it is safe to assume on the 2nd or 3rd ballot that will coalesce around Cruz as the most viable alternate.
Thank you very much! Would appreciate any summaries [I notice the students are applauding and smiling] as I have no audio. Thank you again!
Ted Cruz 2016!!
Students appear to be standing behind Cruz and adults in front.
The students are attending - per the article. I imagine their parents were given tickets also as religious schools REALLY try to have parents participate in things like this. My sons school used to do a mean guilt trip letter. Ahhh, memories.
Reagan came to my home town high-school and did a speech in the football stadium - the entire town turned out, along with half of the county.
Amen.
Pretty much standard stump speech with constant applause. They definitely understand NYC values.
