I sure hope that Cruz will continue to waste his time and resources in NY.
95 delegates are on the line in New York
Theyre awarded based on finishes in each of the states 27 congressional districts.
Weve got 27 mini contests. Theres a mini contest in [Congressman] Higgins district. Theres a mini contest in [Congressman] Collins district. And whoever wins there is going to get more delegates, Hardwick explained.
Expect Donald Trump to continue his headline grabbing approach, according to Carl Calabrese, a Republican strategist.
He says the billionaire businessman has tapped into something thats working, and getting him a lot of free media attention.
Hes a master at it. He really is, said Calabrese, who says hes leaning toward Cruz and Kasich. The man understands the connection between modern political campaigns and the modern reality TV culture. He understands what it takes to stay on center stage and to keep people coming back to watch the next episode of the show so to speak.
Texas senator Ted Cruz, who called his Wisconsin win a turning point, is right on Trumps heels, building an impressive delegate count. Although, Trump continues to dominate the delegate race.
Then, theres Ohio governor John Kasich, whos preventing the one on one contest between Trump and Cruz, and possibly stopping a first ballot nomination at the GOP partys July convention in Cleveland.
Hes looking for a contested convention. An open convention. A brokered convention. I think he does well in a brokered convention, said Hardwick, a Kasich supporter.
The campaign now enters a stretch of states in the Northeast that favors Trump, including his home state of New York.
Cruz is going to spend millions in New York for a 3rd place finish and no delegates
Luz with Cruz
This is great!
Eh, Cruz isn't going to win NY. All he has to do is help keep Trump under 50% so that he won't get all the delegates.
It's actually worth spending a lot of money there because if Trump is kept under 50%, that will practically guarantee a contested convention - one in which Trump won't win.
So if your a Trumpster, you really should at least understand the stakes and why Cruz, Kasich and lots of SuperPAC money will pour into NY. It is not a waste of resources at all, actually it's quite critical.
New York Values....This is going to be repeated over and over for the next 2 weeks. Cruz is wasting his time in NY, but that’s okay.
See post 3. No. Cruz will spend hundreds of thousands in New York, targetting congressional districts his data tells him he can win, along with visiting them to make a personal impression, and will likely get delegate as a result, even if his state-wide finish is not merely in 3rd place, but a dismal 3rd place showing.
The Pundits and TV “Journalists” are praying for a big convention fight in Cleveland. They may be disappointed as Trump manages the majority he needs on the first ballot.

Possibly so, that is why NY is so important. Keeping Trump below 50% will have a huge impact on whether or not he can acquire the needed delegates for an outright win. Making sure he comes in under 50% will deny him all of NY's delegates. So Cruz is not wasting time and money on NY once you understand the stakes.
Cruz will be mathematically eliminated after NY.
Thanks, just tried to post from RS, would not let me. Cruz being introduced right now!!!!
Our next president of the US, Ted Cruz, here he comes.
He has that cute bald SS with him.
It’s working for me. Try the secondary livestream.
free beer!
Oh, I found a live stream. 104 people watching. They have the camera almost on Teds nose. There is a really creepy looking guy over his shoulder nodding his head continually - it is hypnotic and creepy. That is all you can see.
NY Looks like FL to me. If Trump is approaching 50% statewide it’s hard to see Cruz getting more than 1 CD with Kasich in the race. Cruz has some states out west that look much better. Not going to happen in NY.
