Rudyard Kipling wrote a prescient poem in 1919, called "Gods of the Copybook Headings.". This is, simply put, a must-read poem.
Copybooks were texts that allowed British schoolchildren of the time to practice penmanship, and the phrase they would copy -- often a phrase of a sermon, or some wise aphorism -- would be featured on the copybook heading. Kipling was appalled by the counterintuitive modern thoughts of the day, and wrote the poem to point out how eons of wisdom and experience of humankind were hard-won, and he urged us not to embrace the depraved 'shortcuts' we began to take.
Like Kipling -- though lacking his talent -- I, too, urge us to take stock of where we are. Are we in open rebellion with morality and common-sense? Are we in a pitched war with reality? Have we become a Demonic America?
Take yourself back ten years, and (except for the last item, which is older) ask if you would have physically struck a future-you that claimed that any of the above would come to pass.
I know I would.
There can be no doubt. We are in the clutches of great evil. Common sense has been thrown aside for bizarre and absurd conclusions that fly in the face of 2000 years of civilization, and the ideals of decency that surrounded us.
I have not even discussed other forms of evil, such as the Administration's betrayals of Israel -- including an implied threat to shoot down Israeli aircraft that would have struck Iran's nuclear facilities. There are so many other examples, too numerous to list. It all comes together to inform us that this is Satan's time, a time of unbridled evil.
Back in the 1970's and 1980's, I used to listen Iran call us the 'Great Satan' with a combination of derision and bemusement.
Now, I actually wonder... is that what we have become?
We can expect outright physical persecution, torture, and murder of Christians.

Good post. Self reliance has gone by the wayside. When I was growing up no one looked to the government to solve our problems. Through insidious indoctrination in government schools we have a generation of miseducated youth who have no knowledge of history
I believe that too. I don’t see why American Christians would be spared that, even though all living Christians will escape the actual tribulation, now that the US has openly and officially rebelled against God.

It has been ten years and one week since Terry Schiavo died, an act of monstrous evil that no one in leadership was willing to stop.
I always felt America went off the rails right then and there, and the forces of evil have been growing in our country ever since.
America has declined rapidly in ten years, on multiple levels. And its people seem oblivious to its real cause.
We reject Trump, the slide continues.
The roads splits just ahead—I pray we chose wisely.
Fortunately, the Church is taken away to Heaven just before the Tribulation begins.
Yup, that is the bottom line. Lack of decent people as a % of society. There’s reasons all these things are going down now and not 50 years ago, and that’s simply because they know they can get away with it.
I think a lot of folks were fooled by positive signs like the marriage amendment success rates of the 2000s. But when you think about it, that they even had to do that was a terrible sign. And there’s not one state that would now pass a marriage amendment by more than it originally passed. The ones that only passed in the 50-60% ranges might not pass at all, now.

Great post, Laz. It’s interesting to see how far down the slippery slope we’ve traveled. I don’t consider myself old by any stretch of the imagination. What I see now and what I grew up makes me seem very Pollyanna-ish. From what is on TV, to music, to fashion, to icons/heroes, etc; it’s so different now.
Have we (those of us who are unabashedly Christian, conservative, able to discern right/wrong & good/evil) kept silent in the hopes that it would all pass by? The Bible has been very clear on what is to come. I’m sure every generation has felt we are rapidly approaching the end times. But it really feels that way.
Demonic America, I think you are profoundly on to something.
I think you will need to auction it off to the highest bidder.
It's painful to think this, much less write it.
But truth is often painful.
BUT there is coming soon a super natural event which will extract a significant portion of humanity from this planet. There will be a great lie told to explain it away. But --and Laz, this is for you my FRiend-- in the midst of tremendous societal and ecological chaos a real person will stride upon the scene (he's riding a white horse carrying a bow with no arrows in The Revelation of John) who will perhaps have the aid of artificial intelligence to such a degree that he will appear to be 'super brilliant, and he will suggest actions to ameliorate the chaos and starvation and disease rise globally. And the people who were left here following the snatching away of Christians, The Body of Christ, will welcome this real man's commands, and that will trigger the increasing in severity wrath of God upon this planet.
Never underestimate the total depravity of the average human being. Even on FreeRepublic, a relative oasis of sanity in a desert of iniquity, there are many people rushing to condemn Trump for daring to suggest that there should be consequences for women who seek to murder their children.
