Conservative commentator Ann Coulter downplayed Republican front-runner Donald Trump's controversial comments on abortion and his dismal polling with women Tuesday, arguing that his immigration platform will protect women from the "Latin American rape culture."
Trump faced serious criticism from both sides of the abortion debate last week for briefly floating the idea that a woman could face punishment for having an abortion, should it become illegal. Trump quickly walked the comment back, but Coulter said Tuesday on MSNBC that the premise of the question was irrelevant.
"If Donald Trump was running for state legislature in the year 2060 after Roe v. Wade was overturned and happens to be in a place that will pass those laws, that's a relevant question," she said on "Hardball."
"I think I'd be a lot more upset that women are going to get a lot more abortions if we don't close our border with Mexico and bring in all of Latin American rape culture."
Coulter, a Trump supporter, also downplayed concerns that he is not polling well with women by saying the idea "gets repeated so much, and women can be very suggestible and following of trends."

Couple that with unfounded allegations of racism and they’ve created a climate where people are afraid to publicly demonstrate support for Trump; weeks ago I pointed out that this was the original goal.
American women get the leadership (and misery) they deserve.
Trump should immediately start running ads, even web bases ads if necessary, pointing out that Clinton and the democrat party have never addressed the issue of Female Circumcision; the report that between 60 and 80 percent of girls and women coming across our southern border are raped along the way thru Mexico; has never mentioned the Muslim rapefest in Europe; and that Hillary Clinton got a child molester off with a slap on the wrist by dragging the 12 year old victim thru the mud. There is also Hillary’s role in keeping a lid on the Bimbo Eruptions.
A whole series of similar ads could be run over and over again. His first ad featuring Bill Clinton resulted in Bill’s approval rating going for over 50 percent to about 35 percent in just a matter of days. These type ads against Hillary would be very effective.
Hillary Clinton, not good for women, not good for America.
Poor Ann! She actually believes that Donald Trump would do a damn thing about illegal immigration. It is just a big applause line for Trump, which is why he keeps saying it. It is what he needs to say to close this deal.
In the unlikely event that he is the Republican nominee in the Fall, there will be different big applause lines, and Trump will say whatever he needs to say to close that, other, deal. Anything he said from June 2015 to June 2016 will be conveniently forgotten, just as everything he said before June 2015 has already been forgotten.
Ann has been played. But she is doubling down, because it is just too uncomfortable to admit that she was played. She should get over this. Donald Trump is a pro. There is no shame in getting played by a pro.
He seems to have a group of them who do.
This is all BS. Most women want a male figure who is committed to their safety. None of the others even approaches his stature for that.
And the mohammedan rape culture....

“He seems to have a group of them who do.”
Well, they have $10 billion reasons to like him!
Why yes. Ever met a woman who didn't?
Ann followed the Romney trend, then the Christie trend. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
