Police in Manchester, Connecticut arrested a husband and wife after an argument at Royal Buffet got out of hand on Saturday night.
Manchester police say they were called to 410 West Middle Turnpike for a dispute that started as an argument over crab legs at the buffet table and escalated into a physical confrontation. During the scuffle, a 21-year-old man was punched in the face and lost a tooth.
That man's mother jumped in and used pepper spray on her son's attackers. Her actions were in self-defense and she is not facing any charges, according to police.
Police arrested Clifford Knight, 45, and Latoya Knight, 38, both of Windsor. Clifford Knight is charged with third-degree assault and disorder conduct. Latoya Knight is charged with disorderly conduct and threatening. Police said the suspects are husband and wife.
Clifford Knight was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and Lataya Knight was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond. They are both expected in court on April 14.
The Manchester Fire Department responded to vent out the restaurant after the pepper spray was deployed.
The restaurant had to close while the health department assessed the air quality, but the restaurant said they opened for business at the usual time Sunday.

Well, redneck brawls happen in other colors too.
Yes, but what about the actual perpetrators? Were they Caucasian? /s
Aren't all buffets, "all you can eat"?
Buffet
Big Ugly Fat F#%@*&+ Eatin Together
I’ve been to a lot of buffets and have the waist to prove it.
NEVER seen so much as a sneer at one.
This is the people involved, not the cause of a buffet.
Unless it was free lobster :)
Not a fight over chicken wings?
Last few times I went to the buffet in my area there were entire herds of Amish waiting and surrounding the crab tray.
As soon as it’s refilled, they attack it from all sides like animals.
There’s barely anything I would eat there anymore but the show is worth the price of admission
Hmmmmmm. Clifford and LaToya may not have been thinking right.
I’m thinking the pair thought that they could indeed eat them all. Then the other cat tried to get some.
Several years ago I witnessed another Latoya at an all you can eat deal at a casino. I was truly amazed at how many crab legs she had stacked on one plate, easily 10” deep. Too lazy to get up to make another trip or two, I guess.
Perfect illustration of "Crab Bucket" mentality.
Say what????......................
buffets don’t assault....people do.
Two words:
Jameis Winston.....................
This thread just cries out for a Jameis Winston comment.
I read them all, didn't see any that were funny.
Pretty much every one was part of the usual dynamic in on-line MSM forums, where every thread degenerates into charges of racism thrown back and forth.
Pretty much a verbal reenactment of the fight scene from 2001: A Space Odyssey.
The couple, 45-year-old Clifford Knight and 38-year-old Latoya Knight, were arrested Saturday for starting the brawl. Police charged Clifford with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct, while Latoya was charged with disorderly conduct and threatening.
The incident played out at Royal Buffet in Manchester, Conn., after the Knight pair got selfish about their shellfish, according to police who responded to the scene. The couple had gotten into an argument with a 21-year-old male at the scene, but the situation quickly devolved and turned into a physical confrontation when the male was punched in the face and lost a tooth.
The victim's mother became involved in the incident and used pepper spray on her son's assailants. However, since police determined that her actions were in self-defense, she won't be facing any charges.

But a Loaded Buffet, that’s a different story.
Keep your buffets out of reach of children and make sure the food isn’t in the dishes.
I think how everybody picking at the food is what turns me off and not to mention people using pepper spray and people loosing teeth at a restaurant. The publicity will be rough for this place but their customers seem the rough type. :)
Used to go to a buffet that had massive amounts of crab legs. I’m not a seafood guy so I never worried about it. My friends and I would sit there and marvel at the huge, huge piles of crab legs some folks would put on their plates. It was beyond ridiculous. They ALWAYS kept putting out more so take a reasonable amount and then go back for fresh and hot.
No, these folks stocked up like they were gonna be in that booth for 2-3 weeks. And there were lots of folks doing it.
