Ted Cruz will deal Donald Trump an emphatic defeat in Wisconsin next week.
Thats according to The POLITICO Caucus a panel of activists, strategists and operatives in 10 key battleground states. Nearly nine-in-10 Republicans in those states chose Cruz as the likely winner of next Tuesdays Wisconsin presidential primary.
Among Democrats, Caucus members by a nearly two-to-one margin predicted Bernie Sanders would defeat Hillary Clinton.
In the Republican race, insiders said Cruz has surged ahead of Trump in Wisconsin thanks to GOP Gov. Scott Walkers endorsement and an electorate that isnt as favorable to Trump as those in other states.
Governor Walker's endorsement will help Cruz, said one Wisconsin Republican, who, like all respondents, completed the survey this week anonymously. And Trump's bit just does not play with the southeast Wisconsin GOP base.
The drumbeat of doubts about Trump is finally catching up to him, and Ted Cruz will be the beneficiary, added an Iowa Republican. Plus, Cruz is working the grassroots hard, knowing those campaign volunteers will turn into Cleveland delegates.[continued]

Even the old German-socialist descendants who perhaps are now Republicans will not vote for Trump as to them he's the very embodiment of evil capitalism, inequitable free enterprise and less government. These dumbkopfs will vote for Cruz as he's perceived as less of a capitalist pig than Trump.
I have German-descent relatives in Milwaukee, and I ought to know.
Ach du lieber.....Leni
Trump needs only 7 Wisconsin delegates to be on track.
If Cruz does not win 88% of the delegates in Wisconsin he’s toast. There’s no way he’s going to win 88%+ in the rest of the states. Trump is no shoo-in either, but he’s got a little more wiggle room.
Yes, but Cruz has Rove, Romney, Beck, Carly, Walker, Bush, Rubio, Perry, the entire GOPe, plus Obama, Hillary, Sanders and almost the entire Democrat party, +Fox News and 99% of the media pulling for him to steal it at the convention, so we’ll see.
I think they’re claiming God is on the Cruz bandwagon, too, so it’s going to be a rough one.
I get what your saying, but of course supporters are going to down play the relevance of a state their candidate is behind in.
My point is, Wisconsin wasn’t even emphasized before a week or so ago. Trump only has to win 8 delegates to stay on track. I don’t get the big deal about this state other than bragging rights. Cruz was won 9 states, Trump won 20 plus North Marina Islands. He has 2 million more votes than Cruz. Trump is the one with a realistic path to 1237, otherwise we risk establishment picking a nominee for us.
Well, that's what Packers fans always claim...
You should be urging Trump to get his people lined up as national delegates to vote to keep the RNC from changing the rules. I have confidence that Cruz is doing this. Together, they should be able to keep the nomination between the two of them.
Hey Sam...pssst, hate to break it to you but 2DV is a great person, a solid contributor here with insights that not many of us have, and you seem to know squat about character.
Trump is poised to take all 95 delegates in NY by getting over 50% and shortly make it mathematically impossible for Cruz to get 1,237. Ted Cuz is losing by a lot.
I do not believe Donald will not team up with Cruz. And the reason is Donald Trump does not lie and Cruz does.
What is that saying “ do not count your chickens until they hatch.” How many times has the learned establishment types have said that Trump is history? Tuesday April 5, 2016 the election results will show what Cruz how many votes, trump how many votes Kasich how many votes. watch there will be votes for Rubio, and Carson. On the democratic side Sanders is expected to win, than Clinton will have how many votes, but really how many delegates will she gain and the super delegates will make her lose really be a win!
I recently visited an Amish farmer in Wisconsin. We talked about the election coming up. Amish do not vote. But he had a comment - “Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once a while!” Washington DC is like a blind squirrel in its treatment of America, just every once a while it will find a bit of the truth to why it is so messed up. Maybe Trump or even Cruz are that ‘nut’ that is exposing the truth.
He also pointed out how can a state have a Conservative ( Constitutionalist) be the winner and a liberal socialist be the winner too in the same state. Two opposites within the same state will make forth a split in the votes down the road. All he could say is he is looking for whomever wins that God is in control!
Not in reality but certainly is providing aid and comfort.
Nationwide many more voters have found Cruz wanting. Just saying.
Poll: Wisconsin 2016 Presidential Primary

Good news if it holds.
Perhaps folks are starting to realize that the elderly New Yorker with the yellow hair is selling tickets to a November train crash.
Trump can win, and I hope he does...these networks are going to be in a world of hurt, trying to get news from his administration...I hope he makes them eat CROW...
NEVER IN MY VOTING LIFE TIME HAVE I SEEN THE MEDIA TRASH AND INSULT A ‘FRONT RUNNER’ LIKE THEY HAVE DONALD TRUMP...HE REALLY SCARES THE CRAP OUT OF THEM ALL...
WAKE UP VOTERS, THERE IS A REASON THE MEDIA FEARS TRUMP...VOTE TRUMP SHOW THEM WE ARE NOT GOING TO BE CONTROLLED.
Does that poll mean Cruz wins >88% of the delegates in Wisconsin?
